A triple bill of PDX favorites! Sugarcane headlines the evening with their high-energy (and critically acclaimed) blend of back porch blues, Americana and rock– with a touch of the Island vibe. Starting the night off is Early Hours (formerly Sudden Anthem), a band toeing the line between Indie and Americana with a strong original songbook and soaring harmonies.
Over the past couple years Sugarcane has evolved into one of the best Bluegrass Rock bands on the West Coast and is showing no signs of slowing down. A mix of Country, Carribean, Blues and Bluegrass; the band can move both ass and mind. Sugarcane is led by the soulful, powerful, and charismatic voice and songs of Russel James.
The Resolectrics at heart are a classic rhythm and blues band. But like the pioneers of rock & roll in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, The Resolectrics draw inspiration from many sources in the roots of American music to create an original and soulful blend of rock, classic r&b, and folk. Their ragged-yet-heartfelt harmonies, bluesy riffs and swampy grooves are sure to move you. The Resolectrics’ electrifying live shows showcase the group’s dedication to drummer, Johnny Nice’s motto: “Feel is King”
