IT'S TIME for CHAIR AFFAIR+, our festive fundraiser featuring re-created chairs and home furnishings donated by talented local artists. We've got two events happening, and both will be held at Pioneer Place, SW 4th & Yamhill.
Community Warehouse volunteers are busy dressing the windows of Pioneer Place this week in preparation for their major fundraiser, the 2011 CHAIR AFFAIR+. The event venue, generously donated by Pioneer Place management, features street facing windows for excellent viewing of the 100+ works of art up for bid and elegant space for the two parties this year.
Community Warehouse is a 10-year old nonprofit that provides donated furniture and basic household goods to low-income families in Oregon and SW Washington. In 2010, the Warehouse served more than 5800 people.
Now in its fifth year, the CHAIR AFFAIR+ is the agency's biggest fundraiser and a popular spring event. Last year's sold out party raised over $100,000 for the Warehouse. The goal is higher this year since there is greater need in the community.
Chairs+ will be displayed throughout April at Mario's at 833 SW Broadway, and in the Pioneer Place windows on the SW 4th/5th/Yamhill block. All of the artwork can be viewed and purchased online in April at communitywarehouse.org.
Our ¬Å“Reserved Seat¬Â dinner party features the first chance to bid on chairs+, a ¬Å“Hot Seat¬Â cocktail, dinner by Simpatica, live auction packages and plenty of fun. A ticket to this event includes Friday night admission.
Our ¬Å“Standing Room Only¬Â party allows you to meet the artists, enjoy a ¬Å“Hot Seat¬Â cocktail, bid on chairs+, have great food and wine, and discover more ways to support the Warehouse.

I’ve seen the chairs…they are wonderful. I want to go to this, but if I am going to bid on a chair or two, $100 is too rich for my blood. Choose me, I want an art chair for my art room. I’ll take real good care of it.
It is also a great cause that I would be happy to support.
Sounds like a great way to do something Portlandiaish!!thnx
Great food, great drinks, and a chance to see great local art? Sounds amazing! I donated some chairs to the Community Warehouse last year – maybe one of mine will be featured! :)
wow, great event, I would love to go and I promise to be an interesting person with good converstion and not drink too much. ha ha.
A free ticket would be the ticket. I would love to meet some of the artists. I’ve seen some of the chairs, and they are amazing.
I promise to have fun if you pick me.

I’d love to win, my wife tells me I need to be more cultured!
My husband always sends me links of awesome chairs, like this coat check chair:

Winning these Standing Room Only tix would be inspiration enough to outbid the highest of offers from seated attendees for a Chair to call my own…
Sweet, I love to sit down but standing room only will help me get off my ass!
My Boyfriend just graduated with a community development degree from PSU and this would give him a great present and opportunity to network and see that people can get together in creative ways for the common good.
I totally want a chair from this great event!!!!!!!! …will be an awesome charitable affair! Please pick me!
Yes please–my husband just finished working his first tax season, and is destroyed by the loss of the Trailblazers –this would be a nice diversion.
am I allowed to comment more than once?
Nobody, but I mean nobody, likes sitting more than me! And my chairs are all worn out. Me need to buy new ones! Or used ones. I’m not picky.
I like chairs
