Shemanski Park MarketWith this week’s warmer weather comes the return of many Portland Farmers Markets. These bustling neighborhood centers truly signal that Spring is here, with their barrels of fresh produce, local music and art and delicious street food.

NE Portland: King Farmers Market (Sundays, May 1-Oct. 30)

The Sunday Market in the King neighborhood of inner North/Northeast Portland is located at NE 7th & Wygant between NE Alberta & NE Prescott - in the parking lot adjacent to King Elementary School. Downtown: Shemanski Park Farmers Market (Wednesdays, May 4-Oct. 26)

The Wednesday Downtown Market is located in the South Park Blocks at Shemanski Park between SW Salmon & SW Main. Located in the heart of downtown, this midweek market is easily accessible on your lunch hour. Fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, cheeses and more. (More info/website)

SE Portland: Buckman Farmers Market (Thursdays, May 5-Sept. 29)

This inner southeast market - formerly called the Eastbank Farmers Market - will be open Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at SE 20th at Salmon, between Belmont and Hawthorne. New vendors this year include an Heirloom Vegetable farm and a gluten-free bakery. This market also offers classes on cooking and preserving the goodies you bring home from the market. Portland Suburbs: Beaverton Farmers Market (Saturdays, May 7-Oct. 29)

More than worth braving weekend traffic to Beaverton, the Beaverton Farmers Market is the largest market in the state with 15,000-20,000 visitors each week. Nurseries, farmers, ranchers and artisan food producers from around the state sell their goods here.
