The Columbia Gorge Wine & Pear Fest is a three day event featuring many of the award-winning wineries and vineyards in the Columbia River Gorge AVA. There will be two days of wine tasting, artists from around the Pacific Northwest, fruit pairings from the Pear Bureau, food from the best restaurants in the region, and area musicians.

Dr. Butcher M.D. (aka Zombie Holocaust) (1980) A group of people travel from New York to a tropical island, and wander deep into a gore drenched splatter fest. The island is inhabited by cannibals, but that's only a portion of their worries.

A psychotic doctor (butcher) is conducting unholy experiments trying to resurrect the dead, and is unleashing zombies into the wild. If this sounds familiar, it's because you saw it before in Lucio Fulci's Zombie, except this was made by people who thought that Fulci's movie just wasn't violent enough.

With cannibal/zombie carnage at every turn, and some occasional nudity thrown in for good measure, this is an extremely entertaining Italian horror classic. Watch out for the outboard motor to the FACE!

Another weekend in Portland, another excuse for a big ol’ party in the street. The 2011 Kenton Street Fair will be held this Sunday, May 22 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the heart of the downtown Kenton commercial district on N. Denver Avenue between N. Schofield & N. Willis.
