This is roller derby up close and personal! The ice-queens of the Heartless Heathers will face-off against the head banging Guns N Rollers in the second bout of the weekend. The battle takes place at the Hangar at Oaks Park. This 2011 season has been filled with all the hard-hitting roller derby action fans have come to expect from Portland’s toughest athletes.

I have a best friend that has done so much for me, and I have not had the chance to repay him for all he has done. He has mentioned that he would like to go to a Roller Derby…and I would love to be able to take him to a bout especially since he has never been…I would be delighted if you would pick us for the tickets on Friday night. I’ve been unemployed for six months! The Hot Rod Honeys (many play as Texecutioners) ran a workshop when I played for DC. I feel so lucky to now be in Rose City. My buddies from DC would be so jealous to hear I’d be at this bout. Everyone who can should buy the last of these tickets!!!

I have never been to The Hanger yet. I am one of those gals that is just waiting for the right time become a wrecker! (Broke my wrist @ skate world/work/family schedule issues) I want to get involved. In any way! If it’s spectator first, then that’s my current job! I hope I can win tix! I don’t care what bout, all the ladies ROCK! My work schedule sucks, I don’t make enough $ to afford to buy tickets/FUN, but I will take the day off if I can get tickets.

Roller Derby is a family of people and strategy and teams unite with the growth of intrigue. Any bout I can see live gives me that much more insight to the game , and a little less for the obligations ( and often times little unplanned needs of children, like yearbooks and field trips) with equal the same as a ticket oftentimes…. This Sunday is my birthday and I would be so thrilled to have the gift of derby… All because of a little intrigue and inquiry and desire to learn.

Whip it! My daughter was so enamored of that movie that she promptly went out and spent her hard earned moola on skates. Her BF took her to her first roller derby a couple of months ago (ahh, young love) but this unemployed broke@ss mom has yet to scape up the cash to go with her. It would be super awesome to sit in the stands with my daughter getting some bonding time watching the Heartless Heathers & the GnRs fight it out before the semis.
