Update: Portland Last Thursday Info: Street Closures, Parking, Vendors, Noise, Bathrooms, Etc

Portland’s weather does not look like it will fully cooperate, but Alberta will be shut down to auto traffic for the first time this year for the Last Thursday festival (closures are scheduled til October). We were contacted last week by a new organization working with the city of Portland called Friends of Last Thursday (FoLT). It is composed “a group of citizen stakeholders who are trying to build the capacity to take over financial and logistical responsibility for the event.”

From Tucker Teutsch (coordinator with City of Portland): “It is really a watershed year for last Thursday as we work to make the event self-sustaining, safe, and fun for all involved, without sacrificing the flavor of this funky Portland event.”

So, it appears there will be more organization coming to the event and more information about what you can see, specials in businesses, etc as well.
