Emerging from the garages of Portland, OR, The Twangshifters busted down the doors of the Rock ¬ËœN' Roll/ Rock-a-Billy/Roots/ Blues scene in 2010 and are scheduled to release their first self-titled debut album, The Twangshifters on Friday at the Bossanova Ballroom.
With standout tracks like “Sad & Lonely,” and ¬Å“Rose City Rebel¬Â The Twangshifters, is a timelessly soulful collection, an intoxicating blend of Rock, Roots & Blues that appeal to the masses of every age and genre.
The album was recorded at Beefneck Studios in Portland, OR by engineer, Bill Feldmann, a former original member of the Portland rock band ¬Å“Johnny and the distractions¬Â and ¬Å“The Wasted Rangers¬Â. The album was mixed by the legendary Rock-a-Billy legend, Johnny Mercury.

Ohh pick me. All the cool kids will be there.
I’d love tickets!
Dying to see the Twangshifters!!
This show is going to be one to remember! The Twangshifters are an amazing group of talented cats.
3 bands, burlesque show, plus vendors like Cherry Red, Lucky 13, and pin-striper El Volo… what more do you need?!
I haven’t bought tix to this show yet and WOULD love to win them, but win or loose, I’m still going!
The Twangshifters are an amazing band. First saw them at the Hwy 99 Club in Seattle. I was in awe of their talents from the first song of the set. Part of the reason I went to Viva Las Vegas this year was the chance to see them play again. I would love to be able to see them celebrating a great milestone in their musical career….the official release of their debut CD.
We’d love to win the tickets. It’s my husband’s birthday, and we had a rockabilly band play at our wedding. We also saw Brian Setzer on the street at 4am when we were in London for the Royal Wedding in 1981. That was more exciting (and happy) than the weddiing.
I want to go just to see a band with such an odd name. But my girl and I love to dance (well, she marches more than dances). The sun is coming so we need a high energy night to break into the summer.
Friday is my birthday.
Well I didn’t post above WHY I wanted to go. I just went to my first psychobilly show last weekend and want to hear more. So if my friend or I win these tickets, we definitely will be excited to go!
Haiku says it best:
Twangshifters so cool
Must go see show but no dough
Pipeline rescue me!
I just moved to PDX from a very small town and I am eager to learn more about the rockabilly scene here. I enjoy the music and love to cut a rug! I have heard nothing but good things about the Twangshifters and would like to attend this event. I think it would be a beautiful introduction to the Portland rockabilly scene. Tickets Por favor!
Where can I hear a sample of their music? I was alive in the rockabilly era. I would like to relive some of those days.
Hotcha!
