Portland's Distillery Row is fast becoming the ¬Å“must see¬Â attraction for locals and out-of-towners alike-those looking for that perfect afternoon spent exploring the mystique and sampling the wares of the booming micro-distillery movement.

And why not tour Distillery Row in a manner befitting a Portlander-by bike! For the third year running, PDX Pedicab is offering their summer Distillery Row pedicab tour package.

The Distillery Row Tour begins with a special kick-off party at the Jupiter Hotel on June 4,, 2011. Tickets are $35 and include appetizers, sample cocktails from Distillery Row, shuttle and pedicab rides to the distilleries, and the Distillery Row Passport. Tickets are available online at www.pdxpedicab.com.

¬Å“Distillery Row is our most popular tour,¬Â says Kyle _Kautz. ¬Å“There's just something about the vibe amongst the different distilleries and people's fascination with it that makes it a lot of fun. It's educational, relaxed, and of course there's the phenomenal spirits.¬Â

Indeed, PDX Pedicab ran over 1000 Distillery Row tours last year alone. But this year there are a number of added benefits to the package. PDX Pedicab is teaming with Distillery Row Tours & Passport, a local marketing company focused specifically on developing Distillery Row as a top tourist destination. In addition to offering shuttles from downtown (and to a few destinations out of the reach of the pedicabs), the tour will include the new Distillery Row Passport-a 48 page booklet that acts as an interactive tour guide to the distilleries and their neighboring businesses in Distillery Row.

In addition to saving on tasting & tour fees at the distilleries themselves, the Distillery Row Passport offers information, maps, and over 50 discounts and incentives to nearby businesses, from restaurants and bars, retail shops, art galleries and theater, coffee shops, bowling, and comedy clubs.

¬Å“The idea was you come for the tour and the spirits¬Â¦you stay around and go out to dinner, see a show, or go shopping,¬Â says Kyle. It's all about building and supporting community.¬Â

The 2011 Distillery Row Pedicab Tours begin with a special kick-off party at the Jupiter Hotel on June 4th. Tickets are $35 and includes sample cocktails from Distillery Row, shuttle and pedicab rides to the distilleries, and the Distillery Row Passport. Tickets are available online at www.pdxpedicab.com.

I think I should win because I am letting my wife go to her 20th high school reunion on the night of our 19th anniversary this summer. If that isn’t taking one for the team I don’t know what is. This way, we could use the PediCab tour as an alternate event for our anniversary.

  2. Anjuli May 30, 2011 at 11:24 #

I’ve walked pilgrimages across Europe, I’ve been on a beergrimage to Belgium, and now I can do a booze-grimage in Portland without even stumbling. Perfect!

  3. Mia Smith Baldwin May 30, 2011 at 11:29 #

I should win the tickets, because I’m relatively new to Portland, I love beer, and I love alternative transportation.

Seriously though, I can write a great review, and I would love to be able to share my experience, plus it would make a GREAT date for my husband and I, and an opportunity for us to forget about school/work/parenting for the night and have a great time.

  4. Erika May 30, 2011 at 11:29 #

I would love to win tickets for this-sounds like fun!

  8. Vanessa May 30, 2011 at 12:11 #

I deserve this because I can’t drink beer and there are a very limited number of festivals/tours that are not beer based around here, so i usually end up getting to be the sober one. My turn to go hog wild! (oh how I miss gluten…)

  9. Greg May 30, 2011 at 12:15 #

House Spirits makes krogstad aquavit and I am a son of Norway, a viking, whaler, boatbuilder and all around swell dude who would love to win and feels it would be in accordance with ancestral heritage for me to be paraded around gloriously after battle for a tasting of said libation!!

  10. Stu May 30, 2011 at 13:14 #

I think I should win because my newly wed friends are coming to town for their first time. I want to show them an awesome time. We are going to hit up Timbers games, the food cart scene, the beer scene and more. This would be an awesome addition, we’ll give this pair as gifts and buy another for ourselves to make it a foursome.

I think I should win because I just came back from a year long isolated duty tour in the Navy. It would be great to have a fun night back home in Portland. Unfortunately I have to go to school for the navy during the time the winner is announced.

  28. Sarah June 1, 2011 at 15:44 #

Oh distill my heart! Just so happens – I’m checking into the Jupiter Hotel the same day of this event. What a fun bonus this would be. I know I’m not a local, but it doesn’t mean I can’t win. Winning would only strengthen the testimonials I get about Portland being the best city ever. And I can handle the liquor so I’ll be able to take full advantage! Thanks for putting me into the consideration pile!

  29. Gil June 1, 2011 at 15:55 #

  31. Berenice June 1, 2011 at 16:25 #

I’ve done the Portland brewery & brewfest thing front to back (not a reference to wiping, rather thoroughness) and would love to open my heart and palate to the pleasures of distillery row for a change.

  32. Jane June 1, 2011 at 23:39 #

I’m a long time connesiuer of fine spirits & alternate transportation. In my past line of work I often entertained out of towners and always gave local flavor & pedicabs props. Many of those out of towners experienced their first pedicab ride with me. If you pick me I’ll be able to show one more person a fun Portland time.

  33. Cory Frieberg June 2, 2011 at 12:02 #

As a former/current bartender, I would love to go to this! It’s also my last weekend in PDX for a while, daggummit!

  45. Andrea June 2, 2011 at 15:57 #

I think I would love to win this contest!! I work for a fantastic kick-ass Portland company (Rejuvenation Lighting) and have busted my butt this past year lighting up our beautiful city. After a year, finally got my weekends off again!! What better way to celebrate my move back to m-f!! Please? (I asked nice, my Dad always told me if I asked politely and said please I would get what I wanted:))

  46. Michelle June 2, 2011 at 16:01 #

Not only does this event combine the two most “Portland” things about Portland – beer and bikes – but it also falls on a predicted gorgeous weekend. My roommate recently completed a complete career change and graduated from Massage / eastern medicine school and loves beer. But she is SO STRESSED from the pressure it just might blow up the world. What a great treat this would be to calm her soul and our household, AND celebrate Portland’s finest at the same time!

  47. prissy June 2, 2011 at 16:02 #

Dreams do come true. How romantical this will be!

  48. Rebecca June 2, 2011 at 16:03 #
