Cherry Royale is a funk/soul/r&b/hip-hop/electro collective combining funk, groove, psychedelia and dance into various mediums of soul, R&B and hip-hop, styling production from studio-cuts to live improv tracks.

Part of The Axis, a multi-act funk/soul/hip-hop ensemble based out of Atlanta, GA, Cherry Royale was formed in early 2010 by founding members of Atlanta funk-powerhouse Entropy, Athens reggae pioneers DubConscious and other like-minded musicians who wanted a forum/template to express their wide-ranging musical tastes.

About The Sixteen Bars Hip-Hop Orchestra:

The Sixteen Bars Hip Hop Orchestra is a movement of like minded emcees and musicians who preserve and relive the classic hip hop we all love. Lead emcee/curator MCSubZero is backed up by a semi-rotating roster of talented live musicians from some of Atlanta's most popular acts. Guest emcees such Rock Most and Apollo XV help bring a kinetic, memorable and familiar hip-hop experience unlike no other. With influences ranging from all the creative corners of hip-hop, Sixteen Bars is dedicated to keeping the energy and essence of the music we all fell in love with moving, well into the new millennium.

A self-professed hip-hop historian, MC SubZero is just as in love with the culture today as he was the day he was introduced to it. Recognizing an opportunity and need to preserve classic hip-hop music and lyrics, he started contacting fellow multi- talented artists and The Sixteen Bars Orchestra was born. Influences include Eric B. & Rakim, KRS-ONE, N.W.A., Run-DMC, Geto Boys, ATCQ, LL, Big Daddy Kane and The Beastie Boys. The Sixteen Bars Hip-Hop Orchestra is out to reignite the passion for the culture that is inside everybody, even if they forgot they had it.

Along in this quest to preserve hip-hop he has been able to bring together a host of massively talented musicians from various genres, most notably the funk band Entropy out of Atlanta and Dubconscious of Athens, performing together these days as Cherry Royale (of The Axis collective). Whether rocking out Run-DMC or keeping your head up with Dead Prez, by infusing live instruments with classic hip hop swagger, they create an intense and fun experience that will take you way back and leave you there.
