24th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival

Nearly 80,000 beer lovers from around the world will flock to the 24th annual Oregon Brewers Festival, one of the nation’s longest running and best loved craft beer festivals. The fun takes place July 28-31 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. With a laid back attitude and sampling of 86 different beers (plus another 30 in the Buzz Tent), the festival reflects the essence of the city of Portland.

The festival’s focus is craft beer, but there’s more than sampling involved. The event features live music all four days, beer-related vendors, beer memorabilia displays, beer writers and publishers, homebrewing demonstrations, and an assortment of foods. The Crater Lake Root Beer Garden offers complimentary handcrafted root beer for minors and designated drivers. Minors are always welcome at the festival when accompanied by a parent. The Oregon Brewers Festival strongly encourages responsible drinking, and urges patrons to take advantage of the MAX Light Rail line, located just one block west of the festival on SW Oak Street, or its free, on-site bicycle parking.

Taps are open from Noon to 9 pm Thurs through Sat and Noon to 7 pm Sunday. Token & mug sales close one-half hour prior to the taps shutting off. Admission into the festival grounds is free. In order to consume beer, purchase of a 2011 souvenir mug is required and costs $6. Mugs from previous years will not be filled. Beer is purchased with wooden tokens. Tokens cost $1 apiece. Patrons pay four tokens for a full mug of beer, or one token for a taste.

  45. Erika July 11, 2011 at 18:42 #

I’ve yet to attend ANY Brewers Fest! Pathetic, I know… but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a love for the brew! I’m returning home from Northeastern Washington right before the fest, where I will be imbibing on some of that regions best: Northern Ales (Kettle Falls) and Lost Falls (Colville)! It’d be perfect timing because I’ll be able to make a pretty fair comparison with their taste fresh on my mind.

  46. Krista July 11, 2011 at 18:43 #

It’s become a family event! And I need to continue with my collection of 20+ beer fest mugs that stock our kegerator!

  47. John July 11, 2011 at 18:58 #

This year will be better then all the previous years because this will be the first year I will be able to go and drink beer instead of soda!

  55. Jason Derr July 11, 2011 at 20:58 #

I would like to win because my wife are BRAND NEW to Portland (arrived July 1st) so that after a major health crisis my wife can have her dream of art school. In addition to that I arrived with a job offer only to have said job evaporate – i’d like to win this because it would make things just a little bit better.

  64. chelea July 12, 2011 at 08:12 #

Oregon Brewers Festival is a annual event for several people in my office. We leave work early on Thursday and enjoy the evening on the waterfront with some really good beer. I would love to share this package with the friend who originally introduced me to this event 4 years ago. What a great tradition.

  65. Jared July 12, 2011 at 08:26 #

Ohh, it would be a great 21st bday present.

  66. Patrick July 12, 2011 at 08:35 #

I think this will be my 20th year going to this fest. The best part is it always coincides with my birthday! I can’t think of a better way to spend it. I would love to win the package. That would be the icing on the cake!

  67. Emily July 12, 2011 at 08:49 #

PLEASE hook me up! I have been going to the brewers fest every year since I turned 21. This year I will not be able to afford to go on my own :( I work for PPS and after 5 years of work for the district I was part of the layoffs that were just announced due to major cuts. Please shine some light in this tough time. Thanks so much.

  68. Andrew July 12, 2011 at 09:36 #

I should win because I have never been and would love to go! I just moved here from TN because of a job and because Portland is amazing. I’m super excited about this and I need to try all of the amazing Oregon beers. Help me go!

  69. Garrett July 12, 2011 at 09:37 #

I grew a sweet Handlebar Moustache just for the Brewfest, so the tasty beers will linger in the stache. I always support the least favorite beers at the Fest, because I hate lines and having an empty beer mug… Lastly, when everyone starts chanting I raise my mug to sky and howl, while encouraging others to do the same.

  70. MIKIE July 12, 2011 at 09:45 #

Mom’s in town visiting … she likes beer !

  71. Anthony July 12, 2011 at 10:41 #

Because I naively volunteered for last shift, and I’d really really like to be able to enjoy the fest and the beer before then…woe is me!

  72. Nicholas Nelson July 12, 2011 at 10:52 #

I would love to attend this festival because I have heard everyone and their mother talk about how good it is and I LOVE the Portland Craft Brew Scene. I am a novice brewer myself and would like the chance to talk to some of the brewmasters here about brewing techniques.

  73. Pam July 12, 2011 at 13:42 #

My boyfriend and I just drove through 19 states, in 3 and a half days, visited 15 residential properties in 2 days all around Portland to begin my life changing cross country move from Boston, MA. It would be exceptionally wild to attend this amazing festival as a welcoming to what I feel is an amazing city.

  74. Charles July 12, 2011 at 13:45 #

Two years ago, I tried to sample all the beers. This year, I don’t think I will try that, once was enough, but I will be going back again! It’s always a blast.

  75. hannah July 12, 2011 at 14:36 #

    BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERR!

  76. Justin Woj July 12, 2011 at 15:22 #

    “Beer… Now there’s a temporary solution.”

  77. Stephanie July 12, 2011 at 15:47 #

I suffer from Cenosillicaphobia so please let me win tickets?

Cenosillicaphobia = fear of an empty glass

  78. Kristina July 12, 2011 at 16:46 #

It’s July and that means it’s Oregon Craft Beer Month, which also means for me and my boyfriend to try and visit a beer fest every weekend! So far we’ve hit the NA Organic Brewers Festival, The Cans Fest, and are heading to the Portland International Beerfest this weekend. All of this is our warm-up to the finale at the Oregon Brewers Festival, if, we don’t blow our budget :) A lil help, would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Please and Thank you!!

  79. Jeni July 13, 2011 at 07:56 #

I’m bringing friends visiting from Nashville. By the end of the weekend they’ll be genuine Oregon Beer snobs.

  80. Gordon July 13, 2011 at 09:10 #

I feel sorry for those who don’t drink beer because when they get up in the morning that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day.

  81. Katie July 13, 2011 at 09:55 #

I’m Irish and in order to dispel the myth circurlating through Europe that American beer is crap I think I need to go on a fact finding mission to discover the delicious offerings of the pacific northwest.
If I get selected I will be an ambassador for good american not only in Europe but also in Israel where I am moving next. Now thats an offer you can’t pass up!!
(Well, I’ve actually discovered some delicious beers, I just want to discover some more and this sounded like a good plan)
(BTW, Europeans only think American beer is crap cos all they really get is Bud, Coors and Miller – you can’t blame them on that front, can you?)

  82. Tracy July 13, 2011 at 10:12 #

Oregon has the best beers! We will be in Portland that weekend and would love to go to the Festival! Pretty please?!

  83. Stacie July 13, 2011 at 14:39 #

Just started new job! Almost graduated le cordon bleu! LOOOOOOOVE BEER!

  85. Ally July 13, 2011 at 15:01 #

This will be my last weekend in Oregon before I move to New York City, so I need to go out with a bang! I never miss the Oregon Brewer’s Festival! I’ve gone every year since I was 21 and plan to do so every year in the future, even if I have to hitch-hike across the country.

  86. mark bauser July 13, 2011 at 16:01 #

    I can haz free beer?

  87. Corey Thompson July 13, 2011 at 16:52 #

    Beer good. Want beer.

  88. Colette July 13, 2011 at 16:52 #

One of my favorite Portland events!

  89. Lisa July 13, 2011 at 16:54 #

I would love to go because I’ve never been before — super psyched to hear about the root beer offerings too for my non-drinking bf. What an awesome event to showcase all the Oregon talent. Pick me and you’ll go straight to heaven.

  90. David Shirley July 13, 2011 at 16:55 #

I can do this event correctly! and I am ready! and, oh yeah….willing! somebody throw me the keys!

  91. Steve Ferrero July 13, 2011 at 16:58 #

I’ve never been and would love to go for free. Thanks Julian!

  92. Sean Stutzman July 13, 2011 at 17:04 #

Remember that commercial where they zoom in on the Native American and he’s crying? That’s what I will look like if I don’t win…. except less feathers and leather. Of course feathers and leather sounds like a porn. So, I’ll just stick with looking like that guy. Yes, I’d like some beer please.

  93. April July 13, 2011 at 17:09 #

    I would love to go!

  94. Amy July 13, 2011 at 17:15 #

i would love to win these!

  99. Genevieve July 13, 2011 at 18:41 #

Oh my goodness, this would be a blast! Just what I’d need to break up the stress of the 8 days I’ll be working around that weekend.

  100. Mark July 13, 2011 at 18:44 #

One of my favorite events every year, but being recently laid off means I’m not sure if I’ll be able to afford to go.

  101. Chris July 13, 2011 at 19:58 #

Umm. Yes please. Never been and would love to go.

  102. Morgan July 13, 2011 at 20:51 #

I moved to Oregon from Texas back in November, and can’t wait to experience the Brewer’s Festival. I love beer so much, and am so glad to be in Oregon where there are some many breweries and craft beers. I’ve also asked someone to come with me who likes beer as much as I do. We’ve just started dating and I really want us to enjoy it together. I would really like to win one of the packages! :-)

  103. Lori July 13, 2011 at 20:58 #

I’ve got a great friend, she’s the best,
She’s coming to see the Northwest.
    We’ll be drinking much beer,
    A lot of it here
    at the Oregon Brewers Fest!
    We don’t have much dough,
    but we’re still gonna go.
This vacation won’t give her much rest!

I am an amateur brewer looking to open up Oregon’s first estate brewpub (everything grown on site). This would be an excellent opportunity to network with the beer community. Plus drink beer!

  120. Jordan July 14, 2011 at 16:03 #

I take the final for my organic chem course that friday morning and cant think of a better way to celebrate my freedom then sipping on some of the tastiest brews in the world! Cheers – another broke student

  125. Amy July 14, 2011 at 16:12 #

I’d like this for me and my partner, because this is the last weekend the kids are at grandma’s in New Mexico, and we’ve been too hugging broke to do anything rad.

  126. Anjuli July 14, 2011 at 16:26 #

I’m on a roll this year… Spring Beer & Wine Fest, Fruit Beer Fest, Organic Brew Fest.. and now the big one. Please send me, otherwise, I might have to get a second job; I spend far too much of my own money on beerfests :)

  130. Brian July 14, 2011 at 16:41 #

Winning a Beer Package would be the best way to break my beer fast. I’ve been on my beer fast since I started living off of student loans 7 months ago. : (

  131. Angel July 14, 2011 at 16:43 #

    Have no fear, there’s beer!

  161. Hilary A July 14, 2011 at 17:34 #

Hermit that I am, I usually get stewed home alone. Surrounded by thousands of hop guzzling imbibers, I will have lots of nice drunken dialog I can use for my variety of writing projects. Beer me up please, Pipeline!

    Hello, Julian!

I would like to attend because I started liking beer not too long ago, started with a chocolate flavored beer, then sour beer (all sorts), then now unfiltered organic beer. It would be awesome to try all different kinds of beer! :-D and meet some men! hahaha! Hopefully straight men! HA HA HA!

  187. James Barnett July 14, 2011 at 21:14 #

I would like to win because I’ve been out of work for a year and can’t afford to go otherwise. Don’t you feel sorry for me?

  188. Minda July 14, 2011 at 21:19 #

Because I always run into people I know each year! It’s like a Portland reunion. And the beer, volunteers, staff, organizers rock!

  189. Minna July 14, 2011 at 21:21 #

I’d love to win because every time I’ve gone in the past I seem to miss out on the one beer I want to try the most… maybe if I just didn’t wait so long…

  198. Aaron Choate July 14, 2011 at 23:20 #

Looking forward to it! I would like to go because I still haven’t been to a beer festival in Oregon even though we’ve been living here over 2.5 years! Certainly I’ve sample various local brews, of course… I plan to go with a few friends & it would be great to win tickets!

  199. Corbin July 15, 2011 at 00:40 #

    Dang!

  200. Jason July 15, 2011 at 01:08 #

“Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed – Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, ‘It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.'”
    -Jack Handy

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I just want to help make my lovely PDX the “City That Works.”

  201. Josh July 15, 2011 at 01:18 #

    Ummmmmm Beeeeeeeeeeer!

  202. Polishkatie July 15, 2011 at 06:36 #

My employers have recently cut my hours to halftime, only 20 hours per week and my boyfriend has been on unemployment for months. We had to miss the Winter Ale Fest, Spring Beer and Wine Fest, Organic Beer Fest and we’ll be missing the International Beer Fest in the North Park Blocks this weekend all because we need to pay the rent and eat. It would be great to win a beer package for the mother of all Portland beer fests, The Oregon Brewers Festival. Otherwise, 2011 will go down in our memories as the year without any beer fests. :(

  203. Laura July 15, 2011 at 07:05 #

What fun! There is nothing better than getting to try lots of new beers all under one roof! I would love to be the winner of the package to go… Pick me, pick me!!!

  204. Laurie July 15, 2011 at 07:17 #

    Want it bad.

    I LOVE BEER!

  206. Jackie in Oregon July 15, 2011 at 07:51 #

I can’t believe my friends planned a camping trip on BREWERS FEST weekend…. which we naturally had to decline! The last weekend in July is a tradition! A ritual! But now we have surprise guests coming in Seattle. They need a HUGE taste of this event!!! Use your magic powers to make it possible for all of us! Hugs! :)

  207. April July 15, 2011 at 07:59 #

I want to win the tickets to the brewer festival because I LOVE beer but I am a poor student. I really love Portland and would like to see what ur beer fest is like so please let me win the tickets :)

  208. hj July 15, 2011 at 08:02 #

So I can learn about new and craft beers! And then impress all my friends.

  209. Billie Jo July 15, 2011 at 08:19 #

Mmmmmmm….beer! Would love to try more.

  210. Keith Nevison July 15, 2011 at 08:58 #

    Beer, Beer the magical drink.
The more you drink, the more you stink.
The more you stink, the better you feel so let’s get drunk at every meal!

  211. Teddie July 15, 2011 at 09:03 #

  213. Becky July 15, 2011 at 09:39 #

  215. Hava July 15, 2011 at 10:22 #

I’ve been looking forward to OBF for a while and probably can’t really afford to go without the mercy of free tickets. I promise to share my enthusiasm for beer with all in attendance. Seriously. I’ll talk to strangers.

  216. Kimberly July 15, 2011 at 10:25 #

    Hooray beer!

  217. Eowyn July 15, 2011 at 10:41 #

  218. Rebecca July 15, 2011 at 10:44 #

  219. Lee July 15, 2011 at 10:45 #

I look forward to this amazing event opportunity to sample beers from all over!

  225. Shelly July 15, 2011 at 11:22 #

    A beer Limerick:

There once was a girl named Shelly
Who needed some beer for her belly
    She won some free mugs
    Then took a few chugs
And now her head feels like jelly.

  226. April July 15, 2011 at 11:39 #

pick me! I love me the beer!

  227. laura July 15, 2011 at 12:44 #

I wanna go experience all the fun that this event brings to PDX. Never been, think it’s time!

  228. Tanya July 15, 2011 at 12:44 #

I’ve never been! Would love to take my brother who just lost his job!! We both love beer and what a treat it would be to share this with him! Besides it starts the day after my birthday! A treat for two!

  229. d@Ve July 15, 2011 at 13:02 #

while i’ll be out of town that weekend (boo!), my house guests won’t be! i’d love nothing more than to greet them with a brew fest beer package!

  230. Ian July 15, 2011 at 13:12 #

I only thing I like more than beer is free beer.

  231. Oliver July 15, 2011 at 13:34 #

My best friend of 20+ years is visiting that weekend to celebrate his birthday and I would love to be able to surprise him with some free beer at my favorite Portland event!

  232. Emily July 15, 2011 at 13:34 #

I am currently laid off through the budget cuts from an East Multnomah County school district. Have had a lot of difficulty with jumping through the hoops of applying for unemployment. Working at a restaurant and obsessively applying and trying to land an interview for jobs.

Love Brewers fest, have missed it once because it was during the weekend of my wedding 6 years ago. This would be a great anniversary gift :)

  233. Laura July 15, 2011 at 13:42 #

Just got over a false-alarm pregnancy scare. Beer would be a great way to celebrate not being knocked up!

  234. Elysha James July 15, 2011 at 14:28 #

I would like to be entered to win.

  235. Tim July 15, 2011 at 14:48 #

Last time I attended, a few years ago, I was just sitting there and a woman with her boyfriend were walking by when they stopped near me. The woman said,”You look clean. Do you want to try a sip of this chocolate stout?”. They looked “OK” too so I tried the, “hopefully not spiked”, beer and it was great!
    Would love to go again!!

  236. Salvatore_A. July 15, 2011 at 14:59 #

    I neeeeeeeeeed a beer, bro.

  237. Kris July 15, 2011 at 15:05 #

I am planning on going to OBF anyway, but this way I could bring a friend along and introduce them to the wonders of OBF.

  238. Brian July 15, 2011 at 15:19 #

Because I haven’t been to a beer festival in Portland yet and would love to!

  239. Karen July 15, 2011 at 15:42 #

I’ve been to the first one and rarely miss it. We love all the volunteers & know many of the brewers. It will be a great end to Oregon Craft Beer Month!

  240. Joel July 15, 2011 at 15:53 #

I used to volunteer at the festival back to when it first started. Now I let the younger crowd “give back” while I just enjoy the beers!

  241. Robin LaCosse July 15, 2011 at 16:12 #

As recent transplants to the Northwest, the Brewers Fest is one of the many reasons my husband and I LOVE Portland!

  242. Staci July 15, 2011 at 16:58 #

It would rock so much if I won this! Crossing my fingers my name is drawn! It’d be nice to join the festivities this year in place of jealously eyeing the slightly typsy happy Portlanders wandering by with Brewers Fest mugs through my window at work!

  243. Amanda July 15, 2011 at 17:01 #

I would love to go because I’ve never been and it’s near my birthday! I think that my friends and I would have a great time!

  244. Mrla July 15, 2011 at 18:00 #

I’d love to go and can’t afford to!

  245. Molly July 15, 2011 at 18:14 #

I am soooo excited that I moved out here! So much better than MO. I love all the events!

  246. Dylan July 15, 2011 at 19:09 #

I’m leaving to Idaho Falls – which should be called Idaho Dam – at the end of the month and the beer situation their is *pitiful*…but I can’t afford to go to OBF unless you hook me up!!

  247. Melanie July 15, 2011 at 19:33 #

its my first summer in portland and would love to get a free mug!

  248. Keri A. July 15, 2011 at 20:25 #

I volunteered at this event last year and got totally shafted. I would love to attend this beerfest on the receiving end of the mug!! Pretty Please!

  249. Bonnie G. July 15, 2011 at 21:11 #

I left the sunshine of Florida in late September and survived the long gloomy winter here in Portland. I would love to celebrate the sun and summer with some Oregon Craft Beer. Oh, please pick me!

    beer me please.

  251. Christine July 15, 2011 at 22:58 #

  252. Ben July 16, 2011 at 00:15 #

I just had a dream I drove across country during the apocalypse to find my girl and while I was seeing off my travel buddies on the other coast she found me and we went into a field in the middle of the city where she flashed a bunch a kids and everyone was real sweaty. I like free things. Dreams are free. Hook me up and I’ll think I have luck….look at all these entries!!!

  253. Yuri July 16, 2011 at 08:35 #

I’d love free tickets to see the waterfront!

  254. Jim July 16, 2011 at 08:57 #

I’ll bring me, you bring the beer…?

  255. Paul July 16, 2011 at 12:15 #

As a broke college student, this is the only beer festival I try to afford!

  256. Theo July 16, 2011 at 12:20 #

I would like to win this prize because my buddy is being deployed to Afghanistan on August 1st and I want him to have one last American experience prior to leaving.

  257. julie July 16, 2011 at 13:43 #

Yummy! What a great time I would have. I can’t wait.

  258. Scott July 16, 2011 at 14:33 #

They say that Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, well I propose that if beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy than the OBF must indeed be the happiest place on earth, if for only four days. That being said I would profoundly enjoy a bit of beery happiness for a spell, all the much better if I had a “package” whereupon I might convince a “beer goddess” to accompany me for a bit of frolic and fun in the sun. Something to ponder and I say THANKYA BIG BIG!

  259. Chris July 16, 2011 at 18:10 #

I love beer and beer festivals! I espcecially love free beer!

  260. gwendolen July 16, 2011 at 22:55 #

I’m coming all the way from Holland. I’ll bring cheese if you like.

  261. Marijke July 17, 2011 at 05:33 #

Because I am coming all the way from Jakarta, Indonesia for the Portland BEER!!!

  262. Tyson C. July 17, 2011 at 10:18 #

  263. April July 17, 2011 at 11:00 #

Because I’m a rad chick that digs good beer!!

  264. David July 17, 2011 at 11:19 #

    thanks for the chance!

  265. Christina Collada July 17, 2011 at 11:50 #

I want to go to this so bad because craft brew is amazing.

  266. Chi July 17, 2011 at 12:25 #

Please pick me! I love this beer festival!

  267. Katie July 17, 2011 at 20:42 #

Another reason is because I was at the PIB yesterday and some drunkard puked on my hair, how gross is that! The guy who puked on me must have just eaten cos it was full of chunks, yeuch:(

  268. Jennifer S July 17, 2011 at 21:07 #

The festival sounds so awesome! I’ve never been to a beerfest before. It would be great to be initiated into a local Portland Beer Event like this.

  269. Kage July 17, 2011 at 22:13 #

As an Oregon native and dedicated S.N.O.B., this is an event I will never miss. 2011 marks my 4th year and it would be AWESOME to win a beer package! Whether I’m picked or not, I will be there all four days regardless. Free mugs, tokens, and a program? Too sweet!!! : D

  270. Ben July 18, 2011 at 06:40 #

I love to beer fest and would love to take a friend this year (my wife doesn’t drink)

  271. Christina July 18, 2011 at 10:49 #

Fun, Sun?, Ability to attend a tasting of unique and unusual and creative micro-brews with a crowd of enthusiasts and proud brewers, complimentary. What are the chances…

  272. Cori July 18, 2011 at 11:13 #

I would love to win this beer package!

I ♥ the Oregon Brew Fest

  273. John July 18, 2011 at 11:17 #

It would be awesome to win! Hopefully it’s not too late!

  274. Lars July 18, 2011 at 12:18 #

I want to win because I want to sample as many unique beers like Oranje World, Ginger & Meyer Ann, etc. that I can’t get regularly. Thanks!

  275. Kris July 18, 2011 at 13:08 #

    Looking forward to the event!!

  276. Dann Cutter July 18, 2011 at 19:08 #

‘Cause my 20th HS reunion is on the prior weekend, and i will give the package away to a Wilsonite couple from ’91 to keep them in town! (I have my Brunch tickets – well, foolishly, I am short one, forgot to count myself; so I may be the saddest idiot standing outside the Crystal ballroom Thursday if I cannot scrounge another).

  277. Shelley A. July 19, 2011 at 09:43 #

Beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer…some many to try! I need an Oregon Brewers Festival Beer Package. Man do I need one!

  278. Michelle M July 19, 2011 at 11:47 #

Have a blast at the event every year! Going for free would only make it better!

  279. malinda July 19, 2011 at 13:56 #

I would love to take my hubby to the Beer Fest for his birthday. Now that we live on the bus line, we both could drink and take the bus home. It is not always fun to be the designated driver for every event. It would be a fantastic birthday present for him.

  280. Katie July 20, 2011 at 08:35 #

Funny homer quote, I remember from a poster my friend had in his garage. :) “Son, a woman is alot like a refrigerator! They’re about 6 feet tall, 300 pounds…they make ice…

  281. Katie July 20, 2011 at 08:38 #

woops. Accidental submit. haha. … anyways it ends with… “oh wait a minute. Actually a woman is more like a beer.” – Homer.

  282. Cris July 20, 2011 at 14:25 #

    oooo pick me

  283. Rachel July 20, 2011 at 19:19 #

I have a twin brother who is way into beer and brewing and our birthday is next week! I haven’t gotten him anything because I’m super broke, but if I could take him to this it would be the best present for both of us and it would cement my status as most awesome twin. Celebrating our birthday at OBF would rock so hard. Please?

  284. Jeff July 20, 2011 at 21:18 #

    Pick me!!!!!

  285. Molly July 20, 2011 at 22:17 #

nw beer fest! one of my favorite weekends of the year

  286. sarah July 20, 2011 at 22:46 #

My husband just started walking again after being unable to do so for 2 months due to a mysterious staff infection and muscle tears. Which occured just days after our 1st baby was born. He definitely deserves some good times and good BEER!

  287. nick July 20, 2011 at 22:50 #

    Bring on the beer.

  288. Ankit July 20, 2011 at 23:02 #

I’m a foreigner and should experience and have some interesting beer fest story to tell my folks back at my place :)

  289. Tim July 21, 2011 at 02:05 #

I live in Colorado and am a huge craft beer lover. I would really like to attend this fest before the Great American Beer Fest in Denver in Sept.

  290. janice July 21, 2011 at 07:59 #

My husband and I have gone to the festival almost every year. He is a homebrewer and loves trying all the different beers. He always takes the day off. It’s “his day”. This year our 21 year old daughter can attend and drink for the first time. We will lose our driver but it will be fun to show her what the festival is all about.

  291. LeeAnn July 21, 2011 at 10:31 #

Drink, drink and be merry! I love beer!

  292. Brian July 21, 2011 at 11:20 #

The GF from Salem has not been to this festival. This event = perfect introduction into the Portland-culture.

  293. Andrew July 21, 2011 at 11:40 #

Some sun, some beer, and great friends. I love Oregon….

  294. dan July 21, 2011 at 12:37 #

why do i want to win? free beer

  295. Dan July 21, 2011 at 13:00 #

The Oregon Brew Fest is the best in the world! Free beer? I am in!

  296. Jon Palmer July 21, 2011 at 20:24 #

No one deserves to win more than me not only is July 28th my 28th birthday but my brother and best friend are finally making the trip down from central Washington to visit for the first time since I’ve been here for 3 years. I am sooo super excited!

  297. Rick July 21, 2011 at 22:47 #

Myself, and a group of friends have been attending OBF every year for about 15 years (since we were 21). After all those years, some of the guys are traveling 1000+ miles to attend… and the travel costs have really hurt their budgets – but it’s that important to us all. We don’t miss this chance to, once per year, get everyone together AND to search for that one special beer of the year.

  298. Tracy Ann July 21, 2011 at 23:02 #

Beer. People. Sounds like a great time to me! I like to drink. I like beer! I like to talk. Mmmmm. I’d like to win.

  299. Shasta July 22, 2011 at 09:51 #

    Beer is good.

  300. Jen July 22, 2011 at 10:00 #

I should win because I’m a broke (former) college student. I just graduated with my Master’s of Education and I cannot afford to really enjoy myself at the festival. I LOVE all the amazing local beers including the fruity ones to the extremely hop-filled ones. Ppppplllleeeeaaasssseeee pick me, I deserve it….for the sake of my sanity and for the children! (:

Also, my boyfriend and I loooovvveee beer. I mean we really love beer!!!!

  301. Robert July 22, 2011 at 10:02 #

Please! Please! PLEASE! Pick Me! I can’t afford to go otherwise!

  302. Kate July 22, 2011 at 10:03 #

Ummmmm. You had me at “beer.”

  303. amy July 22, 2011 at 10:04 #

Would love to win tickets to OBF!!!

  304. Laura July 22, 2011 at 10:05 #

My boyfriend and I are beer lovers, and lately we’ve each been working two jobs and 40+ hrs a week to keep afloat financially. Friday will be our first day off together in over a month, and we’re making it a date to the Brewer’s fest. So winning those tickets would be so amazing! Anyways, enter me por favor!

  305. Rodney July 22, 2011 at 10:06 #

    more exciting than christmas!

  306. audrye July 22, 2011 at 10:09 #

beer and festivals go hand in hand. much as these mugs and tokens should go in mine. (hands, that is)

  307. DB July 22, 2011 at 10:10 #

I’ll definitely attend the beer fest – annual gig!

  308. Jessica H July 22, 2011 at 10:10 #

As a new Oregonian, I’m immersing myself in local culture – can’t get much more Portland than beer

  309. Ken K. July 22, 2011 at 10:13 #

I’d like to attend to try the many different brews offered. So many in one place. If only it lasted more than for days! I’ll be flying in from Chicago, so really looking forward to it!

  310. suzz July 22, 2011 at 10:14 #

PLEASE – this is one of my fav events of the year! Go Beervana!

One of the best beerfests in PDX!

  316. Dan Stewart July 22, 2011 at 10:20 #

You should pick me ! Why ? Because i am still not over the fact that Hall & Oat tickets are over $70 each and me and my girlfriend are still sad about that, so the best way to forget about seeing our favorite group live is to attend the OBF our 3 year in a row!

  317. Marilen July 22, 2011 at 10:26 #

I can FINALLY take my Gluten-Free Lover to drink him sum. What A great date!! :)))

    Comment #318 ~ so you’re telling me there’s a chance!
I plan on going to OBF anyway, but free tokens and mugs makes it that much better. Fingers crossed for sunny skies!
    Cheers!

  320. Craig Reed July 22, 2011 at 10:34 #

I will be driving down from Seattle for my 5th strait year with my girlfriend. We love the OBF, and having these tickets will make it that much better! We work with a national beer blog as a hobby and also run a Pacific Northwest Beer Facebook page as well, it could be a chance for some awesome exposure for everyone, I will be tweeting and Facebooking throughout the entire event.

This would be great for us to win to kick it off right! Cheeers!

  321. Debbie July 22, 2011 at 10:36 #

I was looking to purchase a couple of packages, but hey, I’ll wait to see if you pick me!!!

  324. Brian B July 22, 2011 at 11:14 #

FREE IS GOOD, but beer is GREAT! Can’t wait!

  325. Terry T. July 22, 2011 at 11:21 #

My little brother just happened to be in town during last year’s festival. So we went and had a blast! This year he’s coming to town just to go again, and as an added bonus gets to hang out with his older brother. I guess he’s excited to see me, too. But he hasn’t shown it.

  326. Jenika July 22, 2011 at 12:04 #

Beer, is liquid bread it’s good for you!!

I go every year, I’d like to go for free this year. That is all.

    Thank you!

  327. Tania Redeau July 22, 2011 at 12:07 #

I can’t wait to attend this event with my friend and co-worker. I will also get to meet my other friend for the very first time even though we have been “mad at each other”. This will be a fun girls get together.

  328. David July 22, 2011 at 12:22 #

Never been to NW Brewer Festival before! We have some hops at home and perhaps explore ideas to do something with them. thanks

  329. Ted July 22, 2011 at 13:44 #

We’re heading to OBF from Sacramento with group of 8 in a bachelor party, first time to the OBF, and we’d love to win!

  330. scot July 22, 2011 at 13:59 #

Arriving from Sacramento July 28th! May I please win a package? Wait, that sounds awful.

  331. scot July 22, 2011 at 14:02 #

  334. April C July 23, 2011 at 00:03 #

  337. Stu July 23, 2011 at 21:44 #

Pick me so I can go to the buzz tent.

  338. debra July 23, 2011 at 22:09 #

Because my friend is making his first trip to the US from Australia and this would be an exceptional way to let him savor some of the fantasticness of Oregon!

  339. Will July 24, 2011 at 00:22 #

I live in Pullman, WA where Keystone Light is called water. I would love to attend an event that offers real, god-honest, good beer. If I could get that beer for free, even better!

  343. Ben July 24, 2011 at 14:19 #

I’m coming all the way from Salt Lake City, the Mecca of prohibition. I would like to win because I’m broke, and because then I could go back to Salt Lake and tell people there is a magical place in the Northwest “where the beer flows like wine!”

  344. Grem July 24, 2011 at 15:50 #

I am looking forward to sampling Oregon’s finest brews!!! We are local glass blowers who love Oregon beer!!!

  345. Kerianne July 24, 2011 at 17:20 #

Hope to be a winner!!! Just found out my hubby will be home & really wants to go! :)

  346. Kaylan July 24, 2011 at 19:13 #

Looking forward to the festival! New to Portland, and would love the tickets!

  347. Sean July 24, 2011 at 21:48 #

I’ve tried and tried to win with you guys to no avail and now it all makes sense. You were just waiting to award me the prize that I desire most.

  348. Ben July 25, 2011 at 09:18 #

Keep entering in hopes that one of these days I’ll be awarded with a prize. The brewers festival could be the one!

  349. Elaine July 25, 2011 at 11:26 #

I never win anything! I went to a Pampered Chef party once… only one other person showed up, and SHE won the door prize! That’s how pathetic I am! Please help me win SOMETHING!! :oD

  350. Crystal July 25, 2011 at 11:49 #

I lived in Oregon and never went. But after hearing so much awesomeness about it, I’m driving down from Seattle for the weekend just to go to the festival!

  351. David Spohn July 25, 2011 at 11:52 #

I want to join my dad this year, he’ll be at the Brewer’s Brunch and I’m in between jobs so I’ll be able join him on the parade route. HOIST!!

  352. Mark Spohn July 25, 2011 at 11:53 #

I’d like my boy David to join in the fun this year on Thursday!

  353. Amber July 25, 2011 at 11:54 #

  354. R July 25, 2011 at 12:59 #

Mainly, I’d just like to drink some great beer… for free.

  355. Krista July 25, 2011 at 13:02 #

Portland, a city filled with opportunity, hipsters and great beer. I’d like to take you up on this opportunity, and drink beer, while surrounded by hipsters. Tokens? Yes please.

  359. Stephanie July 25, 2011 at 19:32 #

my boyfriend and i just started home brewing because of how much we love beer. we’ve been going to brew fest ever since we have been of age. we love to go and try as many different kinds of beer that we can, and now that we are brewing ourselves, we want to find new types of beer that we like.

  360. Emily July 26, 2011 at 00:32 #

I anxiously awaited the day when I would be able to go to this festival, but was moved 3,000 miles away during my senior year of high school. Now as my 10 year reunion approaches I am FINALLY back to this great city just in time, only with moving expenses I can’t really afford to take my girlfriend and I. Go figure. Hopefully I’ll win.

  361. Michelle July 26, 2011 at 07:53 #

I love the feeling of being around sweaty drunk people! O and love beer and have friends coming into town and want to show them what Portland is all about!

  362. Suzanne July 26, 2011 at 10:07 #

Coming all the way from Denver, CO to sample Portland’s best. Portland…please treat a visitor right so I’ll come back to Denver with a positive conversation!

  363. Kyle W July 26, 2011 at 11:01 #

My girlfriend’s birthday is this weekend and this would make for an excellent cherry on top for my brew loving lady.

  364. Tom July 26, 2011 at 13:04 #

Because the odds of winning this are only slightly than Powerball. Planning on having lunch with my Mom, and she’s way more tolerable with beer.

  365. Shannon July 26, 2011 at 13:15 #

    I’m really thirsty!

  366. Yvonne July 26, 2011 at 15:04 #

uh..who turns down free beer tokens to brew fest?

  367. ace July 26, 2011 at 15:25 #

  373. Veronica Lozano July 27, 2011 at 01:52 #

I would love for my husband to go because he is such a sweetheart and really deserves some guy time because he is a social worker and listens to some pretty tough stuff all day. But he wasn’t going this because we are on a budget saving for school. Please let me send him :)

  374. Stephanie G. July 27, 2011 at 08:27 #

My husband is in Germany without me for two weeks. I was supposed to go, but work got out of hand and I had to cancel. Please ameliorate some of my beer envy!

  375. Matt Shoobridge July 27, 2011 at 09:15 #

    I love OBF and PDXPipeline!

  376. Heidi July 27, 2011 at 09:25 #

This has been a tradition of mine for years. I cannot afford it this year and it would really suck to miss out on AWESOME, delicious brews just because money got in the way. If so, I guess it wasn’t meant to be. But, here is my chance to find out.

  377. Matt July 27, 2011 at 10:33 #

Free beer is a nice start! But I had an accident in May, and the mounting medical bills will keep me from otherwise attending.

It would be nice to be able to attend, sample a few brews and forget about the accident/medical bills for a few hours on the banks of the Willamette River.

  378. Rachel Buth and Gina Bender July 27, 2011 at 10:47 #

We would love to attend because we are from milwaukee,WI, home of so many delightful microbrews, and we have been traveling cross country since July 22nd. We drove from san Francisco to Portland in one day and this festival would be a rad way to kick off our Portland adventure ! Please?

  379. Maria July 27, 2011 at 10:53 #

Weather is going to be perfect, cant wait to go to the brewfest!

  380. Matt July 27, 2011 at 11:14 #

I HAVE NEVER BEEN and I’ve lived in Portland my entire life. Please help out this pathetic excuse for a native…

  381. Kathy July 27, 2011 at 12:00 #

I just really want to win something!!! I love beer! I am pretty sure that some sort of random comment picker is used to choose the winner – the same as many other “fanpages” use, so begging and writing sob stories trying to make people feel sorry for you is really not necessary. GO PORTLAND!!
