The Foreign Exchange (Phonte + Nicolay) return to Portland in support of their third release Authenticity. The Foreign Exchange were nominated for a Grammy for Best Urban Alternative Performance for their 2008 single ¬Å“Daykeeper¬Â and named as Jet Magazine's 5 Rising Indie Artists. See their show live at Someday Lounge, along with Zo!, Sy Smith, Jeanne Jolly and a live band.
With Phonte's rapping/singing and Nicolay's producing, the two found each other online and haven't looked back since. A soulful love story, their first album Connected was done all online before they even met.

Love the music enjoy the sound and the lyrical toast to music as a whole. I totally enjoy spending quality time @ the Listening Room in NaShville, where you all dropped science and influenced those floating around the room chill’n with you. & let’s not forget your Boom Bap experience ;) would love to see that again (smurk).
I’ll will wait for the cartoon if i don’t win. But I really hope I win.

I love the Foreign Exchange and always vibe to their music. It’s a shame that we can’t hear more music like this on the radio in town. I’d love to see them live for the first time.

Because my girl, Melissa Navas, really, really wants to see this show to celebrate her birthday. AND I AM BROKE!

Love these guys! You know I gotta put my hat in the ring for this! Not often we get to hear good R&B/soul in Ptown.

My wife and I are from Durham, NC. and moved to Portland 4 years ago. We have been big fans of Darien Brockington and Phonte since their days with Little Brother. Foreign Exchange is like sweet tea with biscuits and gravy on an early morning! We have been there since the start and have no reason to stop now. Portland, North Carolina will look so good on you. We hope to be there supporting them. Hook us up!

In a world of POPular music and radio stations that play the same ole songs in rotation, It would be a privilege to get out of the house for once and hear some good vibes. It’s been a long while…thanks to lack of funding and hubby’s job loss. PICK ME. Thanks!!
July 22, 2011 at 14:33
One of the best shows I saw last year!
July 22, 2011 at 15:00

The laid back jams of FE got me and my ex (the cult classic king) to reconnect over awesome music. If I won the tickets I’d use the opportunity to rock out with old friends. Pick me! If you don’t I’m grateful to have great friends who hook me up with the best music recommendations. FE forever!!!
