August 15, 2011 at 14:40
I absolutely love Ninkasi (especially their summer release Maiden the Shade and Oatis Stout). The idea of a beerunch – pairing mid-morning food with beer – is genius.

August 16, 2011 at 13:17
You’ll need an outta town visitor’s perspective on this. I will be drinking lots of Oregon beer next week with my lovely wife, Mel. And I’m expecting it all to be good (at least drinkable). We’ll be in the Schlafly Beer tees.
August 16, 2011 at 15:42

August 18, 2011 at 10:33
My boyfriend and i love Ninkasi. We even volunteered to work their tap at the oregon brewers fest.
Looking over the brunch menu was a tease! Everything looks so amazing. We also recently moved about 4 blocks away from East Burn and this would give us an amazing chance to explore a part of this side of Portland.
Due to a recent layoff from the public schools i havnt had the cash money flow to do anything to fun like this, it would be an awesome treat for my man and i :) please help me out!
August 18, 2011 at 14:04
I’d love to try the three-course gourmet brunch prepared by executive chef Joseph Dougherty.
Thanks
Zee

Ninkasi, great food and East Burn. What is not to like? My wife and I are huge fans of all three and can’t wait to attend this event (as long as we get free tix!)

Transcend me please…wow I’m salavating after reading this menu. Makes me want to get up and at ‘em on a Sunday. Ninkasi rocks!
August 18, 2011 at 20:04
I’m new to Portland, really love food, really really love beer for breakfast (uhhhh… I mean brunch), and would love the opportunity to meet some new Portland friends who love the same things.
That being said, I’d also love to see how a 3-courser that goes honey scone->biscuit-> honey pazelle won’t be monotonous by the end of the meal. I’d love to win these tickets and I’d love to be proven wrong. I think I’ve exceeded the “I love” quota for one post
August 18, 2011 at 20:16
Ninkasi beer brunch….YES PLEASE!
August 18, 2011 at 20:22

Hey! We love Ninkasi, too! (But we love the EBurn more). Coincidentally, I volunteered, and was chosen, to work my boyfriend’s tap at the Oregon Brewers Fest. It was a blast–you should have seen the heads I was giving! We adore the East Burn, and we goddamn LOVE brunch.

August 19, 2011 at 00:25
I miss Portland so much, as I have left for studies in NYC. It’s not only the city I miss, but most definitely the great NW food and beer! I would love to share my love for the NW with my favorite person and my favorite brewery!
August 19, 2011 at 04:05

August 19, 2011 at 08:31
Beer brunches are great — and what could be better than Ninkasi beer and East Burn food — both excellent!
August 19, 2011 at 08:39
Attending this brunch would just absolutely tickle my fancy! I love the idea of attending an event where it is considered socially acceptable to sling into the pint shortly upon waking up! I get too many dirty looks when I try to attempt such a feat elsewhere ;-)
Cheers! RCTID
August 19, 2011 at 08:47
My husband and I just had our first experience at East Burn last weekend. We opted for the “Hop of the Morning” which features any of the Brunch choices PLUS endless pints or Mimosas. I had the Lobster and Crawfish Benedict and my hubby had the Biscuits and Elk sausage gravy…AMAZING!!!! Please pick me; I cannot WAIT to get back there!
August 19, 2011 at 08:54
hmmmmm. NINKASI? I don’t know who that is, I’m becoming a beer-snob, and do enjoy Eastburn meals but probably wouldn’t go byself so if I win. I can take my friend and probably spread the exciting news to all my food and beer snobby friends :)
August 19, 2011 at 08:55
Oh Ninkasi, how I love thee. So much, that I gave away a gift pack to the winner of our baby pool this year. A brunch break from baby would be great! New parents + EastBurn + Ninkasi = heaven.
August 19, 2011 at 09:02
Bow down!
August 19, 2011 at 09:04
I heart the idea of this brunch:)

August 19, 2011 at 09:08
Recent transplant to PDX and dying to get out and do fun things ! Portland is such a great food and beer town and I want to explore it, but, I am currently unemployed and dining out rarely happens. Please make a guy happy and let me enjoy a great brunch with great beer !
August 19, 2011 at 09:24

A buddy of mine had an internship in San Fran over the summer. He took the last month to drive North for travel fun. I am flying out to Seattle to meet up with him and then we are driving down to Portland and will be in town from Aug. 27-Aug. 30. We are playing it by ear (thoughts on where that saying came from????), riding the wind, going with the flow, wandering without being lost. This event sounds pretty amazing, we would love to attend via a golden ticket.
August 19, 2011 at 22:12

Who can resist a free brunch? Answer is no one! But this is not just a free brunch, this is the ultimate NW style brunch as only Portlanders can conjure. I definitely want to win!
August 26, 2011 at 10:44
Ninkasi is the ancient Sumerian matron goddess of the intoxicating beverage[1], beer.
Her father was Enki, the lord Nudimmud, and her mother was Ninti, the queen of the Abzu. She is also one of the eight children created in order to heal one of the eight wounds that Enki receives. Furthermore, she is the goddess of alcohol. She was also borne of “sparkling fresh water.” She is the goddess made to “satisfy the desire” and “sate the heart.” She would prepare the beverage daily.[1]
