Nurses have announced the release of their next full-length, Dracula, on Dead Oceans. The album will be released in the US on September 20 and in the UK on September 19. The new disc features the band’s unmistakable elastic melodies, heady pop hooks and unconventional knack for catchy songwriting. With its deep grooves, funky bass lines and focus on rhythm, Dracula feels like the older brother to 2009′s Apple’s Acre.
The album is handcrafted with weird and wonderful noises from the band members Aaron Chapman, James Mitchell & John Bowers, who eschewed typical instrumental roles and instead collaborated as producers, each contributing his own ideas and sounds to form songs.

The nurses are a great Portland band. And it is always great to save 16$.

It feels like forever since I’ve seen Nurses play, and they are awesome. I think the real question is, why wouldn’t I want to see them at Holocene Thursday night?

Well, winning some tickets would give me another 16 bucks to spend on my date, which given the state of my finances could be enough to keep a music in my ears AND a roof over my head.

nurses are amazing and if i spend cash at the door i won’t be able to afford their new record! also AU is another one of my favorite local bands and they put on an AMAZING live show.

the 8 bux at the door will deplete my fund s to buy their new record, which i really want to do because they are an amazing band! we’re all lucky to have them call portland home. au is another amazingly breath taking band and i love seeing them live because the music is emotional and danceworthy.

I am a huge fan, and I am unemployed. Also, I would talk about the show on my podcast. And while my dancing skills are pretty entertaining in a weird what is she doing way and not so much in a she should be a professional dancer way.
