The 5th Annual Oregon Music Hall of Fame (OMHOF) Induction Ceremony and Concert will be held at the Newmark Theater on Saturday October 8th at 7pm. The event is a benefit for music education in the state of Oregon, one of the primary efforts of OMHOF. The event will also honor 9 bands and individuals from the state of Oregon that have made a major impact on music.
To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, an artist or individual must have been born in Oregon, or have lived or operated in Oregon sometime during their lifetime, and must have been in the music industry for a minimum of 20 years. This year's Master of Ceremonies will be the ever-colorful Tony Starlight. There will be a rare reunion by Johnny & the Distractions as well as the Crazy 8s, both Oregon favorites from the 1980s.
Violinist extraordinaire Aaron Meyer, who has been very involved with our music education programs in schools, will also perform a short set with some of his students. There will be a guitar auction, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to music education in Oregon schools. Our auctioneer will be Poison Waters from Portland's legendary Darcelle's. There will be 15 autographed guitars including Willie Nelson, Fleet Foxes, Alison Krauss, My Morning Jacket, Los Lobos, Peter Frampton and Go-Go’s.
The event main sponsors are the Ringside Fish House, Berkeley North Pacific and Elliott, Powell, Baden & Baker. KINK-FM, Willamette Week, The Oregonian, KZME-FM, The Skanner and The Portland Observer are providing additional sponsorship. All seats are reserved and tickets are $25 in advance. VIP tickets are $90 and include prime seating, special signed and numbered hand pulled event poster by poster artist Gary Houston and entrance to the VIP after party with the performers and inductees to be held at the Ringside Fish House.

I saw Johnny and the D’s in the very early 80′s in the old Paramount Theater. Now that was Rock n’ Roll….Sounds like a great night of local friends and music…Thank you for the opportunity to win these tickets !!
