What an evening this is going to be!
Strauss's Don Juan starts it all out with a bang! It leaps into the hall with an energy that will blow your hair back. (Can't you see Carlos now?) And it ends at the same breathtaking clip, except for a final 30 seconds that will give you goose bumps.

A befitting approach for a piece about the world-renowned womanizer who gets his final, fitting come-uppance. And a great chance to hear our gifted musicians tackle a very difficult piece.

Then a change of pace. Britten wrote his Piano Concerto to showcase the brilliant capabilities of the piano. And that requires someone very special sitting on that piano bench. Making his Oregon Symphony debut comes Steven Osborne, a very mild-mannered young Englishman. But when he sits down at the piano . . . he transforms into a virtuosic dynamo.

And if that weren't enough, Mozart's ¬Å“Jupiter Symphony¬Â finishes the evening in glorious fashion. One of the greatest symphonies ever written, by a composer who graced this world for a mere 35 years - during which time he composed some of the world's most glorious music. This one is his final symphony . . . and his crowning symphonic achievement.
