Portland's Original Iron Bartender is back for its 4th year, and 2011 is shaping up to be the fiercest competition yet. This is not your mother’s fundraiser; this is a raucous, prize-filled, boozy event that will guarantee your need for cab fare at the end of it. The night's festivities benefit The Giving Tree, a local non-profit that helps build communities in low-income housing.

On December 3rd at the Radio Room, three Portland bartenders will go head to head (to head) during three 5-minute rounds, mixing original cocktails using a different secret ingredient every round. The drinks will be judged by Portland notables, and the winner shall be crowned Iron Bartender. Who will win the title and the people’s ovation and fame forever? Limber up your liver and make your way over to the Radio Room on December 3rd to find out!

Your donation of $10+ gets you:
-Entry to the event
-A raffle ticket for the chance to win one of the 9 unique cocktails mixed during the competition
-A multitude of one-night-only drink specials,
-The chance at tons of prizes and giveaways to bed and breakfast escapes, local fine dining and boutiques, and much more

Every $10 you give online gets your name into a drawing to be the 5th judge! $50 = 5 chances!

During the event, audience members will have the chance to buy voting cards and vote on their favorite bartender. The bartender with the most votes wins the People’s Choice, but there’s something in it for the voters, too: every card submitted goes into a drawing for a massive prize package that one lucky voter will win! Between the People's Choice Audience prize package, the raffle prizes, the free drinks, and the hot bartender action, there's plenty for everyone at this event.

To secure your spot at Iron Bartender, just go to www.wweek.com/giveguide between now and Dec 2 and donate a minimum of $10 to The Giving Tree. Your name will be at the door the night of the event and you can simply breeze on in. You can also pay in cash at the door the night of the event.

I would like to help this local non-profit. I’ve had years of experience donating my time and money to local bars. Now my drinking can help others.

There’s hardly a thing I’ve dreamt of more than simultaneously drinking and judging.

I would love to attend this event. I work with many restaurants, and would like to spend much more time getting a good buzz on instead of analyzing numbers.

I’m so excited to see this! A couple of my friends loved this last year and have been encouraging me to go. I’d love to win tickets so I could go see what they’ve been raving about. I’ve also been looking for inspiration in my own christmas cocktail plans.

I would like to attend this event because I like being entertained while I drink, but apparently bringing a bottle of Jack into a community theater is frowned upon.
