After years of massively-oversold New Year’s parties, Anjali and The Incredible Kid move their raucous annual blowout to the spacious and glorious Bossanova Ballroom.
This party marks the eleventh anniversary of Anjali and The Kid playing in Portland clubs as a duo since their New Year’s Eve debut in 2000. Expect some banging Bhangra and Bollywood tracks along with Giddha Bounce, Tamil and Telugu percussion riots, the best in Urban Desi, and maybe even some forays into other international club bangers, depending on the mood of the DJs and the crowd.
Featuring dance performances from Bridgetown Revue and members of Deviant Dance.

I want to attend this event if I could because Anjali & The Kid ARE AMAZING! Indian music/electronic music is the best :)
December 7, 2011 at 22:44
Spread some holiday cheer, would you? Where else could we go for the greatest mixes on New Year’s Eve??? ♥
December 7, 2011 at 23:42
We are huge Andaz and Filmistan fans but have never been to one of the New Year’s eve parties. We are also struggling with unemployment at our house so super-broke but we love to dance!
December 7, 2011 at 23:56
I need some Anjali and the iKid in my life. Yeah, I made that up.
December 8, 2011 at 11:24
I would love to attend this! I have a troupe of friends visiting and the first time we ever danced together was with Indian music, this would be PERFECT! If I win I’ll make them come too.
December 8, 2011 at 12:11
The first time my friends and I saw DJ Anjali & the Incredible Kid was at Sasquatch 2011 and we couldn’t keep ourselves from straight grooving the whole time. It would be epic to be able to relive that moment with my friends for New Year’s 2012!
December 8, 2011 at 13:11
I would be the happiest girl alive if I was able to see DJ Anjali & the Incredible Kid again this year! I saw them last year on New Years Eve at The Woods and it was the best way to ring in the new year! Please please please!! I look forward to their shows every time they play.
December 8, 2011 at 16:00
I need to do something badass for NYE
December 8, 2011 at 16:21

Please pretty please with sugarplum faeries from Iceland to Bhangra on top??
December 8, 2011 at 19:31
I used to lead a Bhangra exercise class at work a few years ago. It’s fun and Anjali’s beats are the best! Can’t think of a better way to bring in 2012.
December 8, 2011 at 20:08

Would love to go to this party!! Good tunes and people is all I need for New Years. Well and booze of course.
December 9, 2011 at 11:06
I have never been to a Bollywood dance. My husband and I are in our late 50′s, kids are out of the house, why not do something completely different. We’d love to win tickets. Thanks so much for the opportunity.
December 9, 2011 at 17:07
My New Year’s resolution is to go see DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid on New Year’s Eve! So I pretty much have to go.

December 10, 2011 at 01:23
I absolutely love DJ Anjali! Her zombie Bollywood dance party on Halloween was epic. I’ll be sure to attend this one, it’s sure to be a blast!
December 10, 2011 at 09:40
We just have to get our hands on a pair of tickets for the DJ Anjali New Year party. We’ve attended one in the past and just about got in because these tickets sell fast! We tried going to a different type of party last year, but nothing beats your parties! We just have to be there again this year!
December 10, 2011 at 09:56
Why do I want to go to this? Cuz Anjali effing slays it!!!!!
December 11, 2011 at 11:12
We are new to area….new friends…new job…new life…like to celebrate new years eve on head banging bollywood numbers….have heard good things about DJ Anjali and iKid…hope it would be fun….
December 11, 2011 at 11:49
What better way to ring in the New Year than Bhangra dancing? It’s like being trapped in the best cheezy Indian music video!
December 11, 2011 at 16:29
First NYE in PDX! Would love to make DJ Anjali and iKid a tradition with their killer beats!
December 11, 2011 at 20:11
Am a long time fan! I love the energy of your shows and your loyal followers are amazing. I always have so much fun dancing my ass off. I’d love to ring in the new years, sweaty and surrendering to an undeniable beat.
December 12, 2011 at 02:53
seems like a fantastic way to end this year and even better way to start the new year
December 14, 2011 at 13:01
I’m new in town… would LOVE to experience this on NYE
December 14, 2011 at 15:29
I LOVE DJ Anjali!!! It’s been way too long and I am aching for some of her beats! I couldn’t imagine a better way to ring in the new year!!!!!
December 14, 2011 at 19:11
I think it would be a fitting end of the year to support these local indian favorites. hope to win and dance it up!
December 15, 2011 at 10:02
This sounds like the best ever way to ring in the new year! It’s been too long since I’ve heard good bhangra and Bollywood music !
December 15, 2011 at 16:28
Given me druthers, I’d prefer to be here as the calendar flips over!
December 15, 2011 at 17:25
I’m a bhangra booty shakin’ buffoon. Plus this is the only exercise I get in the winter – don’t let me get out fo shape because of a ticket fee.
December 15, 2011 at 18:40
Dance my way into the new year. What could be better.
December 15, 2011 at 19:02
We would love to come. We don’t live too far so we could walk home after. No drinking and driving is good reason!
December 15, 2011 at 20:28
Awesome way to bring in the New Year!!
December 15, 2011 at 20:55
have been wanting to see Anjali and The Incredible Kid for months now! Will be my first time this New Years Eve! Stream KBOO often…gotta get to ptown
December 16, 2011 at 03:21
i’m so tired of working the last 5 years on new year’s eve watching other people have fun, this year i quit and am ready to dance my booty off
December 16, 2011 at 06:13
I missed out last year, and would kill to go this year. Looking forward to dancing up a storm!
December 16, 2011 at 09:07
I would love nothing more than to celebrate with my ladyfriend who I have only seen on webchat since 20 years ago. She is coming to town, never been to Portland, and I would love to take her to experience this event :) We re-connected 2 months back online and this is our chance to re-connect in person.
We want to kiss at midnight and celebrate our love and what we hope will be an amazing coming year for us.
We both love Indian music, and this would give us a great chance here to do something we both wanna do!!!
December 16, 2011 at 14:52
We would love to dance to your groovy beats all night! As we very rarely get out on a NYE (and our ‘entertainment’ budget is practically non-existent), we would get to get all dressed up fancy-like!
We are big fans and love being able to get out and boogie to some bhangra (you always have the best crowd at your shows… happy joyful funky people). It would be the perfect way to celebrate the new year… dancing to my favorite music with my favorite guy in my favorite city with a bunch of very cool partiers.
So pickmepickmepickme!!!!!!
December 17, 2011 at 18:17
Sounds like so much fun. I want to go!
December 17, 2011 at 18:42
I love me some Anjali and my NYE plans just fell through in a big way. This would be amazing!
December 19, 2011 at 14:36
Because we live in Hollywood, which sounds like Bollywood – and we know how to party, we’d like to party with you.
December 19, 2011 at 21:32
My girlfriend and I would love to go to join our friends and dance the night away. I’ve been into State of Bengal and Tana Tani for along time, both great Indian electronic artists, but I’ve never been to something like this in person, so I’m excited to see Anjali for the first time!
December 19, 2011 at 21:49
I want to win & get East Indian THRILLER with it!!! (girly monmonmon)
December 21, 2011 at 09:37
Did you pick a winner yet? It’s past the deadline, but I’m hoping to still win, this sounds like SO MUCH FUN!
December 21, 2011 at 10:19
I really want to win this! I have a brand new boyfriend, and he is from Camaroon and needs to be shown that Portland can party! Let’s do this!
December 21, 2011 at 21:35
I am not good with the clever responses but maybe some booty shaking to some Bollywood beats will help. Please!
December 21, 2011 at 21:38
Oops, I am also not good at the reading of deadlines.
December 22, 2011 at 14:28
It would be fun to win!
December 22, 2011 at 14:33
Love Bollywood music.
December 22, 2011 at 15:19
These are some of the best DJ’s in this town and they always pull off a fantastic show every time!
December 22, 2011 at 16:57
NYE needs to be uniquely special, after what has turned out to be a complete dream-crusher of a year. “Winning anything” I think would be something that would cheer my girlfriend up. Not to mention, she needs to get her dance on.
December 22, 2011 at 17:23
Would love to attend this great NYE party and take my sweetie. Thank you
December 23, 2011 at 02:45
I want to attend this because the music brings me joy and if I feel joy the world is a safer place.
December 23, 2011 at 05:44
I loove Bollywood music!! Most of my international students friends were from India!! This would be the best way of spending new years!!!
December 23, 2011 at 08:45
I would love to get down with some of those beats please please please it’s been such a long year!
December 23, 2011 at 20:18
Bollywoooood me!! For free please
December 24, 2011 at 09:42
Fantastic music, friendly people, and great spirits! That’s how I want to ring in 2012!
December 27, 2011 at 18:36
I love PDX Pipeline! If I won tickets to this show, I would love PDX Pipeline even more.
December 28, 2011 at 11:53
I would love to see DJ Anjali & The Incredible Kid for New Years with my new love. I had accidentally bought tickets for the Woods, thinking DJ Anjali were playing there. Bossanova is within walking (stumbling) distance from my house.
December 28, 2011 at 17:43
I would love nothing more than to attend this NYE party with my just-engaged fiancee, who would be *tickled* to hear that I won tickets for us! I love this venue; he’s never been there. He’s seen Anjali and The Incredible Kid; I have not! I *love* bollywood; he loves bhangra! We just want to get all dressed up and go dancing on NYE. We’re pretty sure that this party is going to be the best!
December 28, 2011 at 20:46
I would LOVE to attend because I am a huge fan and have never been able to go to their New Years shows until this year! I would be beyond excited to go…
December 29, 2011 at 03:30
Winning tickets to DJ Anjali would ensure that I break the chain of Lame-o New Year’s Eves (since 2001). I want to start the New Year shakin’ my groove thang!
December 29, 2011 at 03:33
Also, I found out about the free tix from Dj Anjali herself when I accidently responded to her mass email about the event instead of forwarding it to my friends (oops), so it’s probably kismet.
December 29, 2011 at 08:45
As a white male, there are cultural prescriptions against dancing. In March, 2005, I was cured by dj anjali & incredible kid at holocene – I found the part of my body that could dance. Bhangra cured my whiteness, and we all benefit from that.
December 29, 2011 at 09:33
Pick me pwease?!?!?!??!
December 29, 2011 at 11:53
I am never off work when they are spinning and I finally have NYE off to party!!!
December 29, 2011 at 14:22
Yes, I will dress up as a Viking. A cool one. And my plus one will be a dragon.
December 29, 2011 at 17:33
I want to go because there is nothing better than seeing two white girls try to dance to something besides Blue Moon. Let our awkward moves blow your mind!
December 29, 2011 at 18:05
My friends are going and I don’t have a ticket yet. Plus, my birthday is on New Year’s Eve!
December 29, 2011 at 19:01
On the off chance you still have tix to give away for this…
December 29, 2011 at 21:49
Why me? New Year’s Eve is my birthday. I’d be happy to show you my ID. My wife loves the Bhangra (as do I). Make us both happy, please! Thank you!
December 30, 2011 at 16:39
PLEASSSSSEEEEE!!!!!
December 31, 2011 at 12:16
DJ Anjali is groundbreaking for the Portland dance scene. A force of nature. Would love to see her in action again.
December 31, 2011 at 16:40
