Welcome to the 2011 Portland Masquerade Ball, where Portland’s premiere Bands, Dj’s, Artists and Creators join forces for an epic celebration of life and the pursuit of FUN!
This years Masquerade Ball is featuring:
MARCHFOURTH MARCHING BAND: marchfourthmarchingband.com
MarchFourth Marching Band is a kaleidoscope of musical and visual energy that inspires dancing in an atmosphere of celebration. The show will take you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of eastern Europe to the African jungle by way of Brazil, echoing the deepest grooves of American funk, rock, and jazz then boiling it all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and dazzling dancers.
SOLOVOX: http://solovox.com/
An electrifying live performer and master of synths, midi, and the dancefloor; Solovox writes all-original compositions spanning house, breakbeat, cosmic funk, ambient, improv, and rock. He is a perennial headliner in Portland and has seen his music played nationally on television, film, and most stirringly across the Playa of the Black Rock Desert.
JUST PEOPLE: http://JustPeopleMusic.com/
JUST PEOPLE are the dedicated offspring of a generation of movers and shakers. Take the eloquence of Bob Dylan, mixed with the sheer power of Led Zeppelin, add a dash of The Beatles and for a nice after taste throw in some Talking Heads. The result is best described by Darcy Wallace of the Oregon Voice: ¬Å“JUST PEOPLE are tough to pin down, but damn it, it just sounds so good.¬Â
MR. WU: http://soundcloud.com/mr_wu
Having shared the stage as an opener for talented acts such as; Blockhead, Signal Path, Mochipet, Lorn, Splatinum, Nicoluminous and others, Mr.Wu's ¬Å“dark and heavy meets fun and funky¬Â sets keep the audience engaged from beginning to end.

I would love to win tickets to this! I also noticed that those who purchase tickets prior to the event will receive a coupon to get a mask. I would like to go to this if I win tickets, but am also wondering if winning tickets also gets me a coupon? If so, I’m in! If not, I’m still in, assuming I win, that is.
December 7, 2011 at 14:30
It would be absolutely amazing to win tickets to this. I have a mask I haven’t gotten an excuse to wear yet!
December 7, 2011 at 14:51
The masquerade ball would be a great way to celebrate being finished with my second to last semester of law school!
December 7, 2011 at 15:12
Yes! Yes! Yes!!
I love costumes but have never been to a masquerade ball. I so need to go to one. Please pdxpipeline grant me some tickets!
December 7, 2011 at 15:26
I am flying into Portland that weekend to be with my girlfriend. We have been unable to see each other for 2 months because she was in Guatemala for a nursing rotation and I had to start a job out of state. Her favorite band is MarchFourth and she loves hoola-hooping(she brought a travel hoop to Guatemala), fire dancers, stilts, etc. I would just love to bring her to this event, it would make her so happy!
December 7, 2011 at 16:29
I wanna win!! I went last year and it rocked my socks off!!
December 7, 2011 at 17:15
Oh my gosh! <3 and I would love to win this for my cousin :] He has been working so hard to help his parents through out the harsh economy! He needs a night off to enjoy himself. And plus he's young! He needs to have fun :]
December 7, 2011 at 19:11

December 7, 2011 at 19:55
Please pick me! I would like the tickets because my best friend and I REALLY need a night out after working our butts off lately but also because if I win these I promise to bring along a group of even more attractive women :) And who doesn’t love dancing and wearing a mask???
December 8, 2011 at 01:45
There aren’t enough opportunities for masquerade balls these days! Just like the Venetians back in the day who disguised their identity with beautiful masks so that people of all classes could enter the party, I’d love to wear my Italian Venetian mask — and cape — to the type of party it was especially made for! What’s a beautiful mask without the perfect party to wear it to!
December 8, 2011 at 10:16
Sounds like an amazing time! Id love to check it out!
December 8, 2011 at 15:56
Sounds cool, I’ll check out something new
December 8, 2011 at 15:59
I aspire to be a stilt walker and would like to see up close and personal how it is done! Also, currently my only life experience with “masks” is watching the 90s Jim Carrey movie and I need a new reference point.
December 8, 2011 at 16:00
I would love to win because I love Refuge and I adore Solovox but March 4th and Mr. Wu and Manoj rule too! Sounds like heaven!
December 8, 2011 at 16:07
