Medicine For The People have returned from their Hawaiian tour energized! They’ve brought back the fire from the top of the volcano, as well as new stories and soulful sounds.
Injecting dance rhythms and horns into traditional folk and world music, Medicine is here to cure your winter ills. Opening the evening will be the lovely Ruby Pines.

I love world music and haven’t had the opportunity to know this band! I tried to find on Pandora and cannot locate! I’d love to get introduced!

Seems like a pretty cool band, I dig their message and the stuff they appear to be doing outside of just music. The Goodfoot is also one of my favorite bars to go to, so I wouldn’t mind going to see this band at all. Sounds like a good time!

I need to go dancing to make up for the fact that on NYE I was standing in line for an hour up to midnight to get into a dance party that I never made it into since they were over capacity. Need to start off 2012 on a “good foot”!

I was recently introduced to MFTP and I immediately fell in love with the music, the band and the lyrics! Then I shared some of their music with a friend and she felt the same way! We would both really like to make it to the show, as we can both imagine how powerful the music and lyrics will be in person!

Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve heard of MFTP coming around and would love to catch them live.

After over two years of running in similar circles, I have yet to experience Medicine live, though I have been listening to Nahko’s album almost religiously the last couple weeks. It would mean the world to me to finally see them and experience the spiritual world movement of their music. Also, Moorea of Ruby Pines is a nearest and dearest to me and witnessing her talent live is ALWAYS a delicious pleasure!

This band is rad! I just discovered them and would love to go catch them at the Goodfoot this weekend!!

I would like to compare their “medicine” to that of an accomplished blues singer/ guitarist Tab Benoit, his new cd is entitled MEDICINE. So this will be an actual comparison of Louisiana MEDICINE to your Medicine …..I really want to try different medicines, so I get a feel of ALL cultures! Lets go for it!

You put your right foot in, you put your right foot out, you put your right foot in and you shake it all about. You do the ‘M for the P at the Goodfoot’ Hokey Pokey and you turn yourself around…That’s what it’s all about! :)

CAN’T WAIT to see Medicine for the People Saturday!!! Love the positivity and warmth their music emanates. Perhaps they are the reason we have been having such lovely warm winter weather!!! My friend and I would be happy to receive free tickets so that we can spend the small amount of cash we have on any cds they are selling!!! THANK YOU!!!

I just got back from visiting my family in South Africa and the whole time I was there I did not get to hear any world music. I could not wait to get home to try to find some funky, soulful, world music to dance to in my fun filled home of Portland. I knew that this town is so eclectic and artistic that when I got home I would be able to find something to shake my ass too.
As soon as I get back the first thing I see is this great gig and I cannot wait to get there and dance my ass off. Please help me bring this new year in with style, whilst jammin to the cool sounds of Medicine for the People.

I love Medicine for the People, I have known the musicians in different capacities from playing outside People’s or doing events with TLC Farm. It would be great to see them while they’re in Portland :)
