I tried to win these last year with no luck. Help some poor ladies spoil ourselves with some delicious treats!! We’re even more poor than we were last year! I could never buy myself fancy chocolates. January 12, 2012 at 15:38
Chocolate O How I Love Thee
Your sensational aroma wafting up my nasal orifice
Soft, and creamy as you brush past my lips
Velvety, and luxurious, melting on my tongue.
Scrumptious
Belgian, Swiss, Epicurean, Leonida, Local…I LOVE YOU ALL
You make me yearn for more!
The Portland Chocolate Festival is an amazing experience. Lots of educational activities, and wonderful samples of unusual products using chocolate as an ingredient ie chocolate beer, chocolate bread, rich hot chocolate that rivals the best in Paris.
I look so forward to this wonderful annual experience.
January 12, 2012 at 15:39

January 12, 2012 at 15:48
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of M&M’s and a chocolate cake. I feel better already. Imagine how good I will feel after winning entry to chocolate nirvana. (With apologies to Dave Barry)
January 12, 2012 at 15:49
My girlfriend loves chocolate and I would love to surprise her with tickets to this wonderful event. Please pick me. Thank you.

January 12, 2012 at 15:54
Chocolate.
Chocolate.
CHOCOLATE!!
‘Nuff said.
January 12, 2012 at 15:55
once upon a time in a Midwestern town of Ann Arbor Michigan my mother annually put together a fundraiser event called the “chocolate extravaganza” putting together the county’s finest chocolatiers. Unfortunately, I did not develop an appreciation for this confection until I moved out to the Northwest and thus could not take advantage of the bountiful free chocolate back home. but if you give me tickets, that’ll make up for it just a little bit.
January 12, 2012 at 16:00
Sounds amazing! Chocolate is a (forgiving) weakness :) Plus my kids would love it too!
January 12, 2012 at 16:02
I’d love me some chocolate…and a chocolate weekend, at that!

January 12, 2012 at 16:25

January 12, 2012 at 16:26
You had me at ‘chocolate’.
January 12, 2012 at 16:30
I’d like to win so that I can make myself sick on chocolate, call in to work on Monday, and continue to eat more chocolate.
January 12, 2012 at 16:31

Love me some Chocolate~…really need me some Chocolate~…need Chocolate~ to live…need to live…please give me some Chocolate covered tickets… :)
January 12, 2012 at 17:16
I would like to win because, apparently, I make men crave chocolate. You can take that any way you like. :) But the chocolate would be mine. All mine.
Also, I’m black. And chocolate, as a brown comedian once said, is the one good thing we have that our Eurocentric society can’t take away from us.
Dark (they say) = bad/evil, etc.
But chocolate (we all say) = delicious, decadent, universally (in some cases, literally,) to die for goodness
Sorry! White chocolate = fake chocolate
OK. I’m done. Give me the prize already please.
January 12, 2012 at 17:17
I’m in serious trouble and you, my friend, are the only one who can bail me out. My wife’s birthday was yesterday and I opted to play in my City League basketball game instead of taking her out to dinner (which I’m going to do tonight). My wife was so upset that she ended up going out with a friend and her friend’s husband, both of whom told my wife what a jerk I was for playing ball instead of taking her out. But being that my wife has a fondness, or rather, an obsession for chocolate, I think that I could score some serious points and get out of the doghouse by taking her to the Chocolate Festival. Can you help a brother out?
January 12, 2012 at 17:22
I really want to win this! I have missed this festival every year, and would love to go this year. I adore chocolate and can thin of no better way to spend the weekend than this festival.

January 12, 2012 at 17:35
just lost my girlfriend, trying to win her back. this might just do it. or if it doesn’t, maybe i can get a new one with it. at the very least, it’ll allow me an eve of gluttony, even if it has to be with my xbox buddy joe.
January 12, 2012 at 17:45
I would love to attend! Makes me think of Charlie’s adventures in the Chocolate Factory!
January 12, 2012 at 18:14
Certified chocoholic in serious withdrawal and in serious need of rX relief! Must. Eat. Cocolate.
January 12, 2012 at 18:15
Chocolate Fest is great. Absolutely loved it last year!
January 12, 2012 at 18:22
Last year, when I went back for my third or fourth sample of their chocolate martini, Leonidas told me how to make it at home. Guess what? I forgot the recipe (possibly because I’d had too much chocolate to think straight at that point). Thoughts of that intoxicating martini have been haunting me since. Seriously, I dream about it. I’ve waited a whole year. Reunite me with my dream, Pipeline…
January 12, 2012 at 18:24
Chocolate *and* socks? How can you not enter to try to win?!
January 12, 2012 at 18:29

January 12, 2012 at 20:58
Mmm Chocolate!
January 12, 2012 at 21:07
My wife is in her 3rd trimester. Our little girl is to be born in mid-march. All the honking baby books are telling us that chocolate is good for both the baby & the baby mamma. Every other person we know tells us to get out & enjoy life as a couple before we surrender, ahem, I mean welcome, our new life as a family. Winning tickets would help ups cover most of these bases & get the experts off our backs.
January 12, 2012 at 21:12
That day is my friend’s 24th birthday and I would love to take her because she loves chocolate! We need a trip to Portland to get away from Eugene : )

January 12, 2012 at 22:57
C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E = coco = chocolat = shokolad
- sweet words, I only know but one language, such smooth, rich, silky, decadent deliciousness! The ultimate aphrodisiac! Passionately prepared to pack on the pounds in honor of my great LOVE!
Swiss, Belgian, dark, milk, white – so much goodness!
Please grant me this sinful pleasure! Allow my taste buds to meet the wonders of Portland Chocolate Festival!
January 12, 2012 at 23:00
I’d love to go to this!
January 12, 2012 at 23:21

This guy found a bottle on the ocean, and he opened it and out popped a genie, and he gave him three wishes. The guy wished for a million dollars, and poof! there was a million dollars. Then he wished for a convertible, and poof! there was a convertible. And then, he wished he could be irresistible to all women… poof! he turned into a box of chocolates. Ahhh….chocolate is irresistible!! Would love to go to the Northwest Chocolate Festival…
January 13, 2012 at 10:05

January 14, 2012 at 08:33
My Boyfriend and I have date nights 2x a month… After 9 yrs, finding new and fun dates can be a little challenging. Winning tickets would give him that chance to try something different for a date night, without the excuse of whether it’s worth the money. Also hoping it will impress him to start doing more of these events.
January 14, 2012 at 09:31
You know the way to a girl’s heart…especially if it’s dark chocolate! ;)

People say chocolate is a girls best friend…. especially in times of need. But chocolate and I are soul mates, destined to be together for life and beyond. Help a girl and her soul mate enjoy some quality time together.
AND while doing so it supports a local non profit dedicated to teaching about forests, trees and environmental sustainability, what a FANTASTIC bonus!
January 15, 2012 at 10:43

I am 70% chocolate and need to maintain a healthy ratio by attending. I have ruined many friends by introducing them to premium chocolate and would love to completely raise the bar for my boyfriend. He makes (quiet) baritone animal noises when he seriously enjoys food too.

This year has started hard and strong, and it has been quite difficult at times, even testing. What better than a day of simple pleasures for me and my girl, the luxury of just indulging and treating ourselves, forgetting about our worries and quarrels and just trying good food and drinks, and the wonder of the convention center. Please help me get this year started right :)
January 19, 2012 at 16:51

January 19, 2012 at 17:28
How do you win tix? I would absolutely love to go to this!
January 19, 2012 at 17:31
Because the only cigarettes I ever smoked were chocolate, when I was 9. When I was 15 I melted chocolate for brownies, but decided instead to take the spatula and cover myself from head to foot with it, so that I was one with my ambrosia. For the next 35 years I have sporadically consumed huge gobs of this sweet dark manna, with a particular predilection for Belgian and Swiss varieties. So now that I’m 50, I need a new adventure with this guaranteed pleasure that never fails to deliver OM.
January 19, 2012 at 17:35
Hello, I know that there are going to be a lot many responses to this but thought that I would give it a try and tell you why I would like the gift basket! I’m not trying to be selfish in the least, The person I would really want to bring to this is My fiance David! He goes to work every day (he only gets 4 days off a month) and busts his butt to provide for us. Honestly I just want to give him 1 night to say “thank you” and show him that I appreciate everything that he has done & continues to do for me every single day of my life! Thank you for reading! ~Crystal
January 19, 2012 at 17:37

January 19, 2012 at 17:44
I would like to win because I have never been and I would love to sample the variety of chocolate local and abroad.
January 19, 2012 at 17:59
I need this! This week the puppy died, grandma died, and our small business was burglarized. So far 2012 has not been kind. Chocolate may not fix things, but it sure would sweeten things up a bit. Besides, it would give me a reason to visit Portland again!
January 19, 2012 at 18:09
Would love to get in on this if it’s not too late. Celebrating my friends birthday tomorrow and it would be the perfect way to start out the evening!
January 19, 2012 at 18:32

I am not sure if you’re still giving these away but it would be great to win. I have been having a series of orthopedic issues. The last one being an extensive knee/acl repair, and before that it was a total hip replacement. So I haven’t really been able to get out & do fun things like this. With everything medically going on finances have been tight so now that i’m able to do these things I can’t yet. So getting to go would make my day. Thank you.
Matthew

Yum! I have an addiction to chocolate right now! Since it is cold, hot chocolate has been favorite fix!
January 20, 2012 at 09:02
How can I say ‘no’ to Theobromine (food of the gods)? I grew up on really good German and Swiss chocolate and the taste for high quality chocolate has not diminished since then. A basket full of chocolate would be a dream.
