Bossanova Ballroom
722 E. Burnside Street

Come see these folk rock locals while you still can! With the release of their new CD “It Won’t Be Long,” things look promising for them to hit the national stage soon. The first 75 people to buy advance tickets at $10 will receive a free copy of the CD – how could you go wrong at that price?
The new, self-titled release from Portland band Tango Alpha Tango sits in that uncomfortable place between EP and full-length-it runs seven songs, just under half an hour-but everything else about the record fits perfectly. Starting with the laidback country swoon of “Oh Mama,” the quartet then launches into a slow-building motorik guitar riff in “Mona Lisa’s Death.” Elsewhere, the band continues that expert and surprising balance of folk noir and space rock, even finding room for a glossy pop chorus in “Give of the Summer.”

I’m new to the city and my resolution is to see more live shows – especially local bands. Let’s make this happen!

Tomorrow is my friend’s birthday and he loves this band — would be great to be able to give him a free ticket to celebrate! Also, I’ve never been to Bossanova and I’m super psyched to check it out.

I have the need to party to good music as often as possible. Unfortunately my bank does not agree and refuses to fund my addiction to local music. Oh, and Fruition’s talent continues to grow and impress!

Missed these guys during set break at Leftover Salmon’s NYE show and I’m kicking myself for it…(but re-entry was callling me away from the mob at the bar.) Fortunately the Bossanova has a much better bar setup and I won’t have to miss a moment of this one if you send me. ;-)

How can there only be six responses? This show is going to be awesome. Band rocked the band-change-out at NYE and would absolutely love to see more of them. Can’t wait to hear the new album.

This is why I love PDX Pipeline! This show doesn’t even show up on my Willamette Week web page. Even if I don’t win these tickets, I’d like to thank you for informing me of the show. I will be going either way.
*fingers crossed for extra bar money*

oh yeah… and i would obviously like the tickets so i can dance my lil heart out to some sweet blue-grassy sounds tonight at the beautiful bossanova. i’ve been chasing these guys all around pdx, always dancing even when it’s overcrowded. also, tracking them down at festivals… i really am a fan. they deserve their success and i wanna help em celebrate!
