Pitchfork writes: “Jeremy Jay grew up in Los Angeles speaking exclusively French. If his idea of the cinematic differs from the glacial landscapes of Sigur Rós, or the widescreen orchestration of Eluvium, blame it on Jean-Luc Godard. The lo-fi pop singer/songwriter’s releases evoke an urban boulevard of yet-unbroken dreams.

The simple arrangements, like Jay’s spoken-sung vocals, recall the solo work of Jonathan Richman, who has also bridged the pre-rock era with a punk sensibility, the Stop & Shop with the lesbian bar. Jay’s songs are best when the images they’re centered around have, like 50s icons James Dean or Marilyn Monroe, a certain dream-like hyper-reality.”

Watch Portland Trail Blazers vs Memphis Grizzlies: Preview, Food & Drink Specials

It’s good to be home and the Blazers took advantage of the Rose Garden excitement to trounce the Sacramento Kings and win chalupas for the crowd. Tonight’s opponent will be the much tougher Memphis Grizzlies, who have continued their playoff victories with top-tier wins so far this season. They are being mentioned alongside OKC as possible Western Conference champions.

Zach Randolph has played like a man possessed against the Blazers ever since they traded him away. Luckily, he will not be out there tonight due to a bruised knee. Either way, the Grizzlies haven’t needed him as they’ve continued to win and sit atop the Southwest standings.

Tonight’s game starts at 7PM on Comcast Sports Network. If you do not have cable or want a good Portland establishment to enjoy with friends, here are several suggestions from our sponsors.
