The “Sack Lunch” concert series continues at The Old Church this February in downtown Portland. The concerts take place every Wednesday from noon-1PM. Built in the 1880s, it’s one of the most interesting venues in town and all concerts are free!

The Old Church Free Sack Lunch Concert Series

The Old Church, Portland's historic events venue, presents free concerts every Wednesday, at noon. Come, relax, and enjoy an hour of fine music performed by local artists. Donations welcomed.  The Old Church was built in 1882, and is one of the oldest and most beautiful buildings in the Pacific Northwest. No longer a home to any one congregation, The Old Church is now a nonprofit historic site, available for a wide variety of community functions - from weddings, to concerts, to lectures, to plays.
February 1 – Ronn McFarlane, Lute player extraordinaire is back in town, and will perform his contemporary compositions for us on this Medieval instrument!
February 8 – Sarah Kim, soprano and Michael Barnes, piano, present a recital of songs and arias, soon to be performed in a major national competition.

February 15 – JoAnne Bouma, soprano, with Michelle Mathewson, viola and Rodney Menn, piano will perform an art song recital with work by Hugo Wolf, Johannes Brahms and others.

February 22 – Kathy Fitzgibbon, soprano will be joined by Hannah Penn soprano and Michael Barnes, piano in a recital of songs and arias. Kathy is the new Choral Director at Lewis & Clark College, and founded and conducts the Resonance Ensemble. Hannah is a member of the Portland Opera chorus, and is a new voice professor at Portland State University.

February 29 – Portland State Piano Studio of Lisa Marsh–students pianists perform in recital on the Steinway grand!
