The 11th Annual Worst Day of the Year Ride on February 12 has quickly become Portland's favorite wacky wintertime tradition. The rousing beats of the Last Regiment Drum Corps will send you off on an 18-mile odyssey around downtown Portland. You'll be kept warm and comfy at every turn with belly-nourishing treats including hot cocoa, doughnuts, organic fruit, chai tea, coffee, bagels, hot cider and much more.

Laughing Planet Cafe, experts in wholesome yumminess, is cooking up a finish line meal featuring local, sustainable and organic soups served with fresh focaccia bread.

Join thousands of other bundled-up riders as you laugh at the elements and circle the city on bicycles. Want more of a challenge? The optional 45-mile route loop traverses the west hills out to Hillsboro. The ride is limited to 4,000 riders and it will sell out, so register early to ensure a spot on the hilarious ride. The event starts and finishes at the Lucky Labrador at 915 SE Hawthorne and is a benefit for the Community Cycling Center.

You can save $20 by registering in advance and using a store coupon. See our website for a list of those locations. Even if you don’t use a coupon, advance registration is the way to go – and it closes at midnight on Thursday, February 9 so don’t delay and register today. More Info: worstdayride.com

Please, please, please pick us! My hubby and I have just moved to Portland (less than 1 week ago!) and would love to participate! Unfortunately we are unemployed and can’t afford it. These two tickets would be the best welcome present to Portland. Ever!!
    THANK YOU!

    Woohoo sounds like fun!

  12.   edger Says:

So many reasons….a) I need a great reason to learn to suck it up and ride in the rain, b) I need a great excuse not to volunteer to work, c) I need a great date idea!

  13.   daVe Says:

i’ve done the naked bike ride and could use another portlandesque bike ride under my belt. like any good immigrant, i’m trying to melt into this portland pot best i can.

The weather might actually be nasty this year and I would love to drag my boyfriend around town on his new bike. The one that he hasn’t dared to get dirty yet…
