Buck & Bounce is an amazing party showcasing Bounce & Dirty South bass music. Resident DJs Brice Nice & Beyondadoubt delve deep into Southern party genres – in fact, their impeccable taste and awareness of the scene is what brought Sissy Bounce giant Big Freedia to Portland for her first-ever West coast performance!
Brice Nice is a New Orleans party rocker, radio DJ, and record excavator who specializes in Louisiana Soul and Funk 45s, as well as New Orleans Bounce and Rap 12″s. He wrote a major history of Eddie Bo for Wax Poetics magazine that has since been turned into liner notes for a compilation album and is featured in the Wax Poetics Anthology #2. When he’s not out looking for records, Brice hosts the Block Party radio show every Saturday night on WWOZ (wwoz.org Saturdays 6-8pm CST) in New Orleans and can be found spinning booty jams all over town.
Beyondadoubt is a Portland tastemaker. Pulling from her Southern roots, she has brought originality to Portland nightlife for years. Her ground-breaking monthly, I’ve Got a Hole in My Soul has achieved legendary status with soul heavyweights around the country. At Buck and Bounce, expect to hear an arsenal of original, high-powered booty edits and a storm of her Bounce & Memphis favs.
