Watch Portland Trail Blazers @ New Orleans Hornets: Preview, Aldridge All-Star, Food & Drink Specials

Well, the Trail Blazers were hosed by the refs (and the NBA actually admits it)  against Oklahoma City and then fell apart against Houston. So, the magic of the Rose Garden has faded and it is time for the Blazers to win some road games. Luckily, that should be pretty easy to do tonight as they take on the New Orleans Hornets.

All-Star Aldridge: Congratulations to LaMarcus Aldridge on being named to his first All-Star game yesterday. He is the 15th player in franchise history to be selected an All-Star. More info here.

Tonight’s game starts at 5PM  (HAPPY HOUR TIME!) on Comcast Sports Network. If you do not have cable or want a good Portland establishment to enjoy with friends, here are several suggestions from our sponsors.

Preview - Portland Trail Blazers @ New Orleans Hornets:

By Cain Stoneking
Portland Trailblazers @ New Orleans Hornets
Friday, February 10th, 5:00pm CSNW

Game Notes: It is no secret that after Wednesday’s horrible game the Blazers are reeling a little bit. Their efficiency looks ill as they cough up the ball, spit horrible shots and pass out on defense. Luckily, the NBA cure all for these symptoms is playing the New Orleans Hornets. The Blazers will have an opportunity to put the last two games behind them and move forward as we reach the middle of the season.

The Hornets' best days are like the Blazers' worst days. They don’t have a true point guard and no go to scorer. They have lost seven in a row and have only won four games all year. They are coming off a 67-90 loss at home against the Bulls. Their best player is injured and there is no real hope for this team right now. If the Blazers can’t win this game, then something is seriously wrong.

The Hornets:

Starting Lineup: Jarret Jack, Marko Belinelli, Emeka Okafor, Trevor Ariza, Gustavo Ayon
Bench: Chris Kaman, Xavier Henry, Carl Landry, Gervais Vazquez, Lance Thomas

X’s and O’s:

With an advantage at almost every position, the Blazers will really just need to slow down Okafor and guard the three-point line. They can’t go through another game in which they get outrebounded by 20 because that is possible with Okafor out on the court. The Blazers have also looked flat-footed on defense, especially when they need to close out on three-pointer. On offense, they can’t go wrong as long as they move the ball around and feed the ball to LaMarcus early and often.

Advantage Blazers:

Almost every Blazer except Camby will have an advantage in this game. Normally, Wesley wouldn’t be in that group since he is only better than two or three starting shooting guards but Belinelli should not be a starter in this league. Felton will pressure the ball because no one on this team has any true ball handling skills. Batum and Crawford should get their shots and, hopefully, a lot of baskets.LaMarcus should easily put up all-star numbers.

Last Words:

As expected LaMarcus, was named an all-star. Now he needs to carry his team through these trying times. After back-to-back road games, the Blazers will again play three games in as many nights starting on Valentine’s day.

Games this week:
@ Dallas – 11th
Washington - 14th
@ Golden State – 15th
Los Angeles Clippers – 16th
