The worlds of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media are constantly evolving - making the industry unique in that continuous education is imperative to performance. SearchFest puts Portland on the cutting edge of this education, featuring headliners from top brands such as Facebook and comScore. The digital marketing conference in Portland will offer attendees rare insight on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Governor Hotel.
Portland-based SEMpdx - the group that organizes SearchFest - is the only dedicated SEO and social media professional organization in the Northwest. Moreover, its signature event, SearchFest is currently the only search and social media conference organized by a nonprofit business organization in the Northwest - allowing tickets to be one-third of the cost of other conferences featuring the same caliber of speakers. Lower ticket prices paired with high-caliber speakers has led to tremendous growth of the event. Last year's SearchFest set attendance records and ticket sales are currently almost 30 percent ahead of 2011.
Always on the cutting edge, top industry trends will be covered at SearchFest, including: Google+, local search, mobile marketing (IBM predicted that ¬Å“an unprecedented 15 percent of people in the U.S. logging onto a retailer's Web site are expected to do so through a mobile device.¬Â), social targeting and advertising (with Facebook having emerged as the biggest online advertiser).
With industry leaders Facebook and comScore (a global leader in measuring the digital world) both keynoting, new insights will be gleaned. Even though SearchFest is only about one short month away, we don't even know what developments will be on the horizon for Facebook at that time. SearchFest organizers look forward to possibly hearing the news first at the full day conference from speaker, Brian Pipegrass, Internet Marketing Manager at Facebook.

Thank you for the opportunity to attend this conference. I have long been a part of the Voluntary Simplicity community. This would be my first time hearing Juliet Schor speak and it would be an honor. Her book “The Overworked American” was very important to changes my family has made over the years, indeed, why we now live happily in Portland.
February 17, 2012 at 17:43
With a non profit and not a lot of IT experience, this sounds like the right ticket. I would love to learn from the pros, grow out donor base and get some more exposure.
February 17, 2012 at 20:49
I’ve been unemployed and I could use the conference to jump start my job search and help to market myself, as well learning something new to offer a new employer.
