Going to be a great week for Portlandia with Portland Trail Blazers All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge and Penny Marshall stopping by. This episode takes place in Portlandia’s most famous location, the “Feminist Book Store” aka In Other Words Feminist Community Center. You can see a video clip on IFC’s site here.
From IFC: What do an NBA basketball player and the star of ¬Å“Laverne & Shirley¬Â have in common? We're guessing not much besides the fact that they are both going to be on this week's episode of¬Å“Portlandia.¬Â LaMarcus Aldridge the power forward of the Portland Trailblazers and Penny Marshall a.k.a. Laverne are stopping by Portland's premiere feminist bookstore ¬Å“Women & Women First¬Â to help Toni (Carrie Brownstein) and Candace (Fred Armisen) commemorate the shop's 10th anniversary. But as you can see in the clips below, there may be some animosity between Penny and Candace. Tune in to IFC on Friday at 10/9c to find out the root of the trouble.
Portlandia also began releasing the winners of its “Most Portland Thing Ever”. The first winner apparently confronted some LARPers down at Burnside Bridge. Perhaps it was people returning from the Steam Punk Festival a couple weeks back. You can read the account on IFC here.
