Game Notes:

Though they started out fast and hungry, the talent of the Heat overwhelmed the Blazers Thursday night.. Tonight, they have a chance to get back on their feet and above .500 with a game against the Timberwolves. With the trade deadline looming, it appears some of the Blazers with expiring contracts have lost interest in the team. The losses are taking a toll on LaMarcus as well. The Blazers have a couple easy games coming up and then a tough seven game road trip. Where they stand after that road trip will tell where this team is going.

The Timberwolves have been one of the biggest surprises of the season. At eighteen wins, they have already surpassed last year's win count. Kevin Love is getting a ton of points and rebounds and Ricky Rubio is more exciting than advertised. The Timberwolves are one of the most fun teams to watch in all of basketball, which makes this game a must-watch.

The Timberwolves:

Starting Lineup: Luke Ridnour, Kevin Love, Wesley Johnson, Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic
Bench: Martell Webster, Michael Beasley, Derrick Williams, J.J. Berea, Wayne Ellington

X’s and O’s:

The Timberwolves are still young and inexperienced so it would behoove the Blazers to attack on both ends of the floor. They need to put pressure on the Wolves offense and try to force turnovers. They also need to attack the rim repeatedly and put a lot of pressure on their defense. This game is going to be close and exciting, not something most people would have expected before the season started.

Advantage Blazers:

The Blazers embarrassed themselves in their first two games back since the break. There is no doubt they will want to come out and get that bad taste out of their mouth. They can ill afford to lose three games in a row when there are only thirty games left in the season. The Blazers need to remember that they are on the outside looking in and if the season ended right now, they would not make the playoffs.

Last Words:

Can we please get Steve Nash?
