  14. Kristina March 21, 2012 at 19:18 #

My wonderful boyfriend, who I love dearly, is going away for the weekend for a beach camping trip to celebrate his best friend’s recent engagement. I was invited, but had to decline due to responsibilities at home. I can’t think of a better way to get over being bummed than a beer and music festival, which have two out of three of my most favorite past times…of course the third being camping at the beach. And what could possibly be better than beer and music? Beer and Weinland! We fell head over heels in love with their music at the Portland Playhouse, No P.A. In NoPo. What an amazing show! We’ve since seen them at the the Doug Fir, and Rose Fest, but always seem to find out they played after the fact. So, while my favorite man in the world is celebrating with his bestie I have found something shiney to distract me from wishing I was celebrating too. He might actually wish he found something too!

  19. Blackmambo March 22, 2012 at 09:38 #

From the great poet Homer (simpson) “Beer the cause and solution to all of life’s problems,”
    A rhyme perhaps:
    I can’t *Stay Calm*
when the Malt Ball is on
tokens are flying out of my Palm
    Beer a plenty
    Can’t afford the twenty
    So send me away
    On this Saturday
Malts, hops, and *Archers*, I’m in the know
With tickets from the pipeline away i go.

Obviously I really want to go, I moved to Portland for Craft Beer and Music, but as I am doing an AmeriCorps year I can’t afford fancy things like this. Please send me, I look forward to it.

  22. Tony Paz March 22, 2012 at 13:27 #

Wow, so much good stuff under one roof. My wife and I are new to marriage and new to Portland. This would be a great way to strengthen our convictions about both!

  24. wallace March 22, 2012 at 13:57 #

I’d like the tickets because i am making everyone smarter* by sharing:

*Malt beer balls are beer soaked candies often sold in beer carton packaging to promote their association with flavored beer and malt beershakes. One of the most popular brands of malt beer balls is SNOB®.
The flavor of malt beer balls is often described as nutty or distinctively hearty, much like a grain cereal. The reason for this unusual flavor is the use of a grain treatment known as malting. Barley grains are allowed to germinate after harvest, which changes the sugar composition of the grain, in the same sense that germinated corn becomes more suitable for distillation. The malt barley grain is carefully dried and ground into a powder for confectionery use.
Other dry ingredients such as wheat flour and powder beer are then added to the malt barley powder to form malt beer. This malt powder is commonly added to whole beer or ice cream beershakes to provide a pleasantly nutty malt flavor. This form of malt beer powder can be purchased as a mix in many grocery stores.

I just finished finals, and I’ve been looking to relax. School and the world is heavy stuff, so a day of music, social interaction, and positive beer sounds great.

  26. Hans March 22, 2012 at 14:24 #

I love and support the local music scene. I love and support local craft beer. AND March 24th is my birthday, which would make this an awesome 1st birthday in Portland.

#3. I’m off to grad school in another state and need a proper Portland beer & music-filled send-off.
#4. Beer is delicious but it tastes so much better when it’s free.
#5. Loud music makes everything better.
