I was really excited to be expecting a call back about WORKING for Cirque Du Soleil today. It’s my birthday. Recently I lost my long-term girlfriend followed by my job. So being told I might have this super fun job and then not getting a call back has been the icing on my cake. :P

I’ve been thoroughly addicted to Cirque ever since I saw Allegria several years ago. I would love to see this one!
My current project involves the circus…but in the 1850s near London. It was usually called “horse-riding” in those days and chiefly featured horse dramas and the occasional trained dog. They didn’t even use tents but rather traveled around to wooden pavilions specially provided for roving entertainers. Interesting, no?
Anyway. This would be a fun counterpoint to all the antiquated excitement I’ve been delving into.

I will start of by saying (please don’t disqualify me) I don’t know too much about cirque du soleil.I have been back in Portland with my girlfriend for 3 months going on 4 and have had a horrid time getting a job. A few months ago when things were looking more optimistic, she specifically mentioned this event “maybe when you get a job we could go/you could take me to to the cirque du soleil” she said. she’s a total catch and not being able to take her anywhere cool has been super hard. If I win these tickets it would make an awesome girl smile, make a poor boy look alright and probably save the whole relationship (she’s not gonna stay with my broke ass forever). So yeah, that is my plea, if I don’t win could you at least help me find a job in food service? That would also help too ;)

Unless Ringling and most commercial circuses, Cirque du Soleil does not use animals! This is extremely important to me because entertainment should not include suffering and exploitation. This circus is more expensive as a result, which is completely understandable. That said, I would dearly love to attend because I am unemployed…

All I ever wanted to do was run away and join the Cirque. I’ve been looking forward to Ovo coming to Portland for so long. My wife just lost her job, dropping us into financial lockdown with heavy burdens. With what I earn, we’ll be able to keep lights on and eat at home. What a buggy way to kick off Spring, a veritable trip down the rabbit hole, would be thrilled to win a couple of tickets :)
I’m a flight attendant, (a fan of flying!) and I just did a scary thing and began taking Aerial Dance classes. At first it was intimidating since I never so much and did the rope climb in school (I always wrote a “note from my mom” to say I was “too sick for P.E.” on rope days…). What’s crazy is once I realized I was strong enough to climb up and look down, I became addicted to the Aerial class. In the past, I thought Cirque de Soleil sounded cool but would never follow up enough to attend a performance. Now it’s non-negotiable that I see how expansive human flight can be with the strength & artistry of the pro’s, but nothing would be cooler than winning a pair of tickets and being able to show my companion what it is that makes it so fun!
I am a Canadian citizen but having lived abroad for most of my adult years I’ve never had the chance to see this most famous Canadian ‘export’. I’d love to share this with a family member who needs to appreciate their heritage…:-)

We saw our first Cirque show last spring, Dralion, and the kids’ eyes were wide and mouths hanging open the entire time–same for the parents.
It would be a great way to start my birthday weekend. The last time they were here, my husband bought tickets before we planned a trip to see family out east so we didn’t get to use them.
This show looks fantastic and I have always wanted to see a live performance ever since I saw a film of them at the omnimax theater at OMSI.

Our sweet Corina turns 7 on April 10th and loves Cirque du Soleil with all of her heart! 13 years ago I had the pleasure of attending a cirque show in Vegas. My son is 9 and loves watching it on TV. I want to take him to one show. Currently I am between jobs (hoping that is solved very soon) and even with my little home business money is super tight. We haven’t been able to go to any shows or movies for almost two years and I really want to treat him to something special. He has worked hard in school earning a TAG delineation and it is time to reward his hard work.

I want to go to Cirque du Soliel’ Ovo and take my 18 yr old daughter because…apparently, I am completely archaic and lost all touch on the reality of what its like to be an 18 yr old “woman”…she REALLY wants to go to this show so bad but since losing my job of 19 yrs in January, the ticket prices are a bit much for my unemployed pocket book….it would give us a night out together, which hasn’t happened in forever and I’d like one more opportunity to create another memory with her before she takes off to college.

Love any opportunity to support individuals who are brave enough to put themselves out there, perform extremely intricate dance, acrobatics and abstract elements, and all the while making it look effortless. When my partners and I opened Someday Lounge, our first shows were circus oriented performances with aerialists, costumed, side show horrors like suspension artists and theatrical shows with avante garde music and dance intertwined. The performances Cirque Du Soleil puts on are extremely inspiring and that big top world with rigging beyond imagination drives me to evolve my beliefs in my small room in Old Town Portland and what is possible in it.

It is wonderful the way that Cirque du Soleil has redefined what a circus can be. There is so much joy of movement conveyed in these works, and it is truly astounding to see what these very talented artists are able to do with their bodies. I would love to vicariously experience sensations of leaping and winding and spinning and flying and to transcend my aging, arthritic body for just a couple of hours….

I just moved to Portland with my 10 year old sister from Massachusetts. We don’t know anyone on the West Coast but so far are loving Portland. Unfortunately times are hard and I can’t afford tickets to a show I’ve always dreamed of going to. This would be a nice break for the both of us, please :)

I’ve never gone to Cirque de Soleil, but always have hopes of winning tickets when I see that giant tent pop up. I’ve heard the show an amazing experience that you have to see sometime in your life. Please take pity on an unemployed college grad!

Cool! Le Cirque du Soleil and their insects sound positively weird…
my 16yr old nephew told me about this show & its creation and with his obsession with everything reptilian, I want to take him to this show and would LOVE free tix :)
Because Cirque du Soleil is the most amazing show ever. I just want to watch the human body do things it’s not meant or supposed to. Bonus is they do it all with no animals.
My husband & I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and this would be wonderful to see, as we have never been able to see this show.
Seen Cirque on tv but never live because they were either sold out or I couldn’t get the $$$ together at the time. Would be great to enjoy a live “insect” experience.
