For our March storytelling shows we bring you two very special nights of all new stories from some of our audience favorites from the past four years! As always we cast a variety of local and national tellers from different walks of life¬Â¦some have a long list of performing credits, and for others this appearance will only be their second or third time on stage!
All stories must have never been told been told in public prior to their Back Fence telling, and many tellers will share personal details that they've never uttered to another soul before hitting our stage.

Anything with cupcakes has to be amazing….2 please :)
I like stories!
This sounds great … I love a good story. I could go either thurs. or fri. Give me tickets and I’ll be there!
The only thing I love more than a great story is a great story with cupcakes during intermission. AND it’s our first anniversary! Friday would be ideal for us. Thank you!
My friend is performing and I’m unemployed. Give me tickets and I’ll be there cheering loudly!
I am afraid that I am living in a time and place where “story” has begun it’s decline.
In this day and age of clicks, swipes and taps…of haptic vibrations…in a timelessness that seeks to supersede beginning-middle-and-end, I would welcome a chance to cling to the last vestiges of storytelling, live, in person (with my virtual fire app roaring; but, kept out of sight in my pocket, phone set to Silent).
I love cupcakes and my friend might like a drink. We both like stories.
I’m an avid “This American Life”, “Story Corps”, “Radio Lab”, etc. listener. In short – I love a good story. Friday. Thank you!
Always a great event. Now available in ‘best of’ format!? I’d love to go.
We would love to come! We’re in town this week & want to experience all that Pdx has to offer.
Yeah, YEAH! This is right in our neighborhood. A great way to spend the evening. The love of stories runs deep, deep DEEP. It is a lost art, and the chance to hear stories told, with a captive, interested audience is a rare and delicious treat (with or without cupcakes!).
This sounds like a blast.
Sounds like a cool evening
I really enjoyed Mortified and this sounds on par with that.
Once upon a time, there was a young man who fell in love with a little lady. He wooed her for months, while she played coy. With his bank account tapped and his patience strapped, he asked pdx pipeline for a gift. They gave him tickets to bank fence on friday the 30th and they’ve been in love ever since. at there wedding they had but a cupcake but the best cake do they make. They now live happily ever after.
I love stories and would love to go friday
I’m taking my mom to tonight’s PDX Backfence and would love free tickets!
The boyfriend dumped me but we’re still besties (he gave me a toaster as a lovely parting gift) and we still do things together. The day he broke up with me we went to Artist’s Rep to see “Race”. Keep this breakup optimal and send us to Friday night’s show!
I adore a good story and need something to get me out of the house in this rain. It’s spring break and I’m going stir crazy!
I love this type of sh**.
I want to take my girl out for some fun and I’ve never had a bad time at BFPDX. Also we love to laugh.
Something awesomely Portland to take my mom and husband to on Friday!
Stories are the creative conversion of life itself into a more powerful, clearer, more meaningful experience. They are the currency of human contact.  Robert McKee And on a less philosophical note I will close with, “oh – oh – free tickets – pick me, pick me, over here, pick me please!”
Sounds like fun and who doesn’t like a good story
I don’t just love stories, I like to create them. I would love to go Friday night after a long week at work covering for an employee who is on vacation.
Friday-yes
Saturday-yes
I need a break and storytelling!?!? YES
I’m down. This always sells out.
Too late for tonight’s show, so therefore you must get me in for tomorrow.
drove by the mission this eve, was like ‘wtf is everyone lined up in this sh*tty weather for?’, and now i know. stick me in the rain for tomorrow’s show, please.
Haven’t been, sounds interesting. Fri night show please!
this sounds lovely!!
I could use me some good stories!
sounds fun!
I love BackFence and I haven’t been to one of these in a while. It’s high time I remedied that, whether I win tix or not, but I hope I win!
I need new perspectives on life, love, and everything in-between this weekend. This would be perfect. And cupcakes always help too!
I listen to storytelling radio all the time via radio lab and this american life. Would love to see storytellers in person! It would add a new dimension. Thx!
Storytelling sounds like the perfect way to beat the Oregon floods. We could use a good date night!
I’ve never been to a storytelling event. Sounds like a good way to celebrate my birthday. From reading all these posts….who wouldn’t want to go?
I’d love to see the Friday show. “Just Can’t Get Over It” is the theme of my life.
I would enjoy the Firday show. Stories help us understnad each other
D’oh!!!! My friend and I both went to get tickets for tonight’s show and it’s SOLD OUT! We really kicked ourselves for griping over the 75 cent upcharge of pre-purchasing tickets online. Unfortunately, neither of us were able to get to a spot to get tickets in vivo before this afternoon :/
I am a huge storytelling fan and was so excited to see tonight’s show with my friend, but I have been working crazy hours and couldn’t make it to the box office to buy tickets. When I finally got there, it was sold out! I love storytelling and the camaraderie it creates between people. I was so disappointed to miss out on tickets, especially since my birthday is next weekend and this was supposed to be my gift to myself.
