Portland’s favorite dachshunds will race for the NW Weenie Dog Classic cup.
Proceeds on weenie bucks, food and bar will be donated to The Pongo Fund: Oregon’s Pet Food Bank.
Off track betting with “Weenie Bucks”. $1= 1 weenie buck. Weenie bucks can be redeemed at several of our favorite restaurants, bars and other cool businesses in Portland.
Local celebrity judge panel inc: Jedediah from Portlandia, Tres Shannon from VooDoo Doughnuts and Nik Sin.
Bourbon AND Tequila specials. Outdoor beer truck and Mexican inspired food specials.
Don’t sweat parking! PDX Pedicab will be on deck to pedal you to your next party stop, or your car, after the races. Thanks PDX Pedicab for sponsoring the Weenie Bucks! PediCab shuttles will run from Sniff on NW 19th & Raleigh to The Gypsy.
DJ will be playing cuts inspired by latin flare, the dirty south, and every party in between.
The event is outdoors, all ages and dog-friendly. Please bring dog-friendly kids and people-friendly dogs. Bust out your party hats and sunglasses… sombreros and southern belle sun hats encouraged!

My pops is coming to town from New Mexico, and we’re looking for something besides the fucking zoo to do with the kids. We have the mother of all wiener dog races down in Buddha, Texas, but thank ghod we’re not there anymore. I would love to take pop and the girls to see this, and at the Gypsy!? What a blast!
