“THE HAPPY FAMILY”, is a re-adaptation of the 1969 cult horror film entitled “Girly”, which was an adaptation of the stage play by Maise Mosco.
Sonny, Girly, Mumsy and Nanny are four disenfranchised adults with a need for family…and a little blood! They’ve set up a household for themselves, in a dilapidated mansion in the English countryside, where they can play out their most deadly fantasies together. But rules are rules, and this house is not without its moral code. They lure new “friends” home and play games with them. However, some of the friends don’t play by the rules. What ensues is nothing but macabre, guignol fun!!!
Directed by James Peck, a wonderfully bright, refreshing Englishman with an immense joie de vivre, this play is certain to make you envision our ruling class with its pants down, as it nears the end of its reign. Like all societies throughout time, our own leaders are experiencing the downturn of their tenure. Their only recourse? Get violent!
This world premiere production is at once fun and scary, revolutionary and apropos.

This sounds like so much fun! I could use a good laugh at some blood and guts.
This show I heard is amazing! I want to go please.
I’m a theater junkie who especially loves intimate performance pieces. I’m also a huge fan of ‘grand guignol’ style theatre, and from what I’ve heard, this is something I would love…
i would love to see this! i have just moved to Portland, however, and don’t think I can swing it financially.
my dog, cat, wife and child ran away. I need to be amused.
Oh! I just saw this posted as a Meetup event, had no idea this play was connected to that film. Interest had been piqued, now it’s spiked. Tickets please!!!
I wanna see anything that showcases the ruling class with its pants down.
because my family was anything but happy : (
Pick me! Pick me! I’ll keep it really weird! ;)
Horror on the stage is my fav.
