The Wizard of Oz + Dark Side of the Moon will be performed live in its entirety by Pigs on the Wing with Bradley Wik and the Charlatans opening the show.
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Pigs on the Wing is a unique Pink Floyd tribute bringing the experience and energy of veteran members of the Northwest’s underground original rock scene together in a refreshing, beautifully psychedelic take on the music of Pink Floyd.
Far from an attempt at Floyd-impersonation, POTW specializes in 70′s era Floyd but is unapologetic in the interpretation and improvisation of the music in ways that the band believes any Pink Floyd fan will appreciate. Rather than obsessing over exact, note for note replication of Floyd albums or any sort of look-alike mimicry of band members, POTW rather seeks to capture the intense atmosphere and rock energy of Pink Floyd in as unpretentious a style as possible.
The result is a show which is true to the original and yet also a refreshing take on the music and experience of Pink Floyd. The band features a collaborative and rotating roster composed of members of Oxcart and other NW musicians brought together by a common appreciation for Pink Floyd. The current lineup includes: Jason Baker (guitar, vocals); Matt Jones (keys, vocals); Eric Welder (bass); Alex Feletar (drums); David Lindenbaum (guitar, vocals); and Keeley St. Clair (backing vocals)..

Yeah – this would be awesome!
I haven’t done that mash-up in ages – it would be fun to see a live band play while watching the movie!
The Wall AND Dark Side in the same month? Doesn’t get much better than that.
Ive never seen the mashup and would really like to check it out.
There is no dark side in the moon, really. As a matter of fact it’s all dark
Somewhere over the rainbow I want to be at this show! With munchkins and dark sides of the moon!!
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in my ear
I’d shout that I’d really like to hear.
And if I get to see this band playing favorite tunes
I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon.
I’ve always heard about this but never really believed it…make me a believer.
I have not yet experienced the wonders of The dark side of the rainbow. I would love love love to see this with my best friend.
Oh, yes! I’m really glad you chose to post this event. I’d love to attend because I’m a ridiculous Floyd fan and dig gettin’ down at the Tabor. If I could afford it, then I’d already have my tickets. Please pick me!
Pigs on the Wing? Yes, please with a side of bacon.
But seriously, I’d really like to see this overly precedented tribute. ;-)
P.S. What if I can’t add numbers…do I not get to try to win? Only kidding, it’s way better than those illegible words! Nice work pdxpipeline.
I saw a Pink Floyd’s The Wall animation/music sync show at a planetarium in Berlin, Germany. Now, I want to experience The Dark Side of The Moon!
This would be amazing – I’ve always wanted proof that this really works!
I haven’t done Dark Side of the Rainbow in ages. Let me relive my days when I was stoned 19 of the 24 hours again, please?
Must see would love to see! Pick ME!
Can’t say I’ve been to anything like this before.. bring it on.
When I went to Rutgers in New Jersey, I lived off campus in an attic eaved room…it was pyramid shaped, painted black, and had the prism and rainbow decorating the walls just like the album cover. I lived and breathed Pink Floyd. Okay, so the point is, I want these tickets.
Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since my friends and I kicked back and experienced Dark Side for the first time in 8th grade. That same year we heard about the coincidental synchronicity with Wizard of Oz, raced to the video store, and were entranced once again. I’ve never seen Floyd live so hopefully this will in some way fill that void. It will definitely bring back some good memories! Oh and I’m taking a girl I just met so this would be an awesome first night out for us.
I feel like I missed an integral part of the college experience by not watching wizard of oz while listening to dark side of the moon. maybe winning tickets to this would make up for it.
I love Pink Floyd. I love The Wizard of Oz. I love Portland.
My best friend is on hard times as am I, we’ve been talking about how great this show would be but can’t afford tickets, please send us!
I saw this once back in the 90′s, but it was a laser light show, but it didn’t have a live band backing it up. Seeing it this way would be a refreshing twist.
Would love to check their take on Dark Side. Have heard good things about Pigs, but haven’t been able to check them out.
Ahhhhh…math?! You don’t trust me?
Crap. Let me get my toes out.
I would love to see if this really works. Listened to it like this as a younger version of me, but I think it would be more appreciated not “stoned” this time! =)
Man, this would be so cool! I’d love to go big time please!
Two of the finest Classics combined….divine! Must experience this!
I’ve never seen it but only heard about it. It would be a lot of fun!
Heck yeah. we just missed Wicked, Im sure this will put that to shame !
I’ve heard these two playing together on the computer. It would be great to see in a large venue!
Yes Yes! I would love to go see this please!
