Celebrate Rose Festival with the new Rosé in the Rose City grand tasting event at Montgomery Park
The North Willamette Valley may be known for its pioneering wineries crafting world-class Pinot Noir, but when the sun shines, we love to uncork some Rosé and start sipping! The North Willamette Vintners are thrilled to host the first Rosé in the Rose City wine-tasting event in conjunction with Portland’s annual Rose Festival celebration.
As an officially sanctioned Rose Festival event, Rosé in the Rose City brings 18 North Willamette Valley wineries to Portland for an afternoon of sun-splashed sipping featuring Rosé and other summer varietals such as Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and sparkling wine. The Rosé varietals available for tasting will highlight different winemaking styles – from sweet to dry. There will also be exclusive limited edition tastings. The event takes place at Montgomery Park, 2701 NW Vaughn St., Portland, on Thursday, June 14th from 5 to 8 p.m. Wine is available to purchase in any assortment by the bottle or the case with special event discounts.
Tickets are $25 each and include wine tastings, light food pairings and a commemorative wine glass. For tickets, please visit www.nwvintners.org.

About North Willamette Vintners
Located near the northern boundary of Oregon’s Willamette Valley wine region, the North Willamette Vintners are a cluster of independent wineries crafting fine wines from the valley’s most fertile land. Passionate, creative and diverse, this young industry association is made up of 43 members representing wineries, tasting rooms and wine tourism partners throughout the northern reaches of the valley. Most of the wineries are located just outside Portland in the nearby communities of Beaverton, Cornelius, Forest Grove, Gaston, Helvetia, Hillsboro and Tigard. On the road to Oregon’s scenic coast and the heart of the Willamette Valley, the North Willamette wine region is easily accessible for a day trip or weekend excursion.
The North Willamette Vintners host a variety of signature events throughout the year, including Red, White & Celebrate (June 30-July 4, 2012), Canines Uncorked (July 28, 2012), the North Willamette Harvest Trail and Grand Tasting (October 6, 2012) and the North Willamette Wine Trail (April 13-14, 2013). The North Willamette Vintners are funded in part by a tourism development grant from the Washington County Visitors Association. Pretty pink wine is perfect for summer sipping.
I would LOVE to go to this event! This is a great way to get to know local vineyards and wine makers in the community, (not to mention delicious wine.)
So, I have a second date scheduled for the 14th with this awesome dude that Im pretty into. It would be awesome to take him to this:) Please help a lonely lady impress this really nice guy!
I recently moved back to the beautiful city of portland Oregon and have always loved oregon wines! Going to this event would be so much fun! I know little about Rose wine, so it would also be a great learning experience!
thank you
This sounds wonderful… I would love to go!
I’ve recently fallen in love with wine – especially Rosé – and with the Oregon wine culture so tis would be such a wonderful event to win tickets to – it would make my week!
Sounds delightful. I can has?
I am just getting into wine and love to go to tastings. I however, am only 24 and can’t regularly go to them. I think this would be a great way to learn what to pair with what, find some new local wines I enjoy, and have fun at the same time!
I’m just now getting into Rosé and would love to do a tasting! It’s also my birthday this week :) Pick me!
This sound great! Would love to go!
Rose wine + rose city = win.
I would love to take my beautiful wife Ruby to this event. She just turned 30 and finally got a well desirved promotion that has been stressing her out for months. This is the perfect thing to express how proud I am of her.
Thank you,
I just moved to Portland last week and would love to taste some of the local wines!! I’m totally in love with Portland so far. This would add to the love for sure!
This would be a wonderful introduction to 2011 rosé wines, and so romantic! I rarely have time to visit wineries, it would be such a treat to attend this event! *pleasepickme!*
I promise not to ask them in disgust to take away the old wines and bring me a new wine a la Steve Martin in The Jerk!
Whining to win wine tix.
Please and thank you.
I am (finally) graduating from PSU after my fifth year with a bachelors in Biology as is my girlfriend. Looking for something exciting to do to celebrate. Hugely passionate of the craft beer and wine scene and will be using my degree to pursue a career in one of those two fields. Would love to attend this event and get started on the right foot.
Cheers!
Eric
The other day my four year old and I walked through the neighborhood and decided to smell all the different roses we saw. There were a lot! We noticed each variety had a different fragrance: lemon, wedding cake, perfumed lady, orange, cotton candy…to name a few. I was reminded of a tour of a small vineyard in southern france when I was a young man. I always remember being told to describe the wine like a feu d’artifice, or fireworks display, going off in my mouth. The layers of flavor, the timing of each. It’s been a while since I had the chance to have fun with wine tasting. I’d love to do it again soon. Maybe if you chose me, I could afford a babysitter… :)
I am getting more into the beer and wine scene and would love to mingle with people doing the same.
I really want to go. I finish my finals tonight. I am in the process of moving. I work 40 hours a week. I am exhausted. Please let me have this break.
This is literally the first day in 3 weeks my girlfriend and I will have off together. Let’s make it something special.
I am SO excited for this!
I know it’s kind of cheap to tac on to the end of this contest, but I really would love to go, and see no other way.
I am from southern Oregon, and have done some wine tastings on the Rogue River, but have yet to do any wine tastings in Portland. I know our craft beers are huge here, and the wine is built to compete.
I will walk on my hands for five minutes to win these tickets.
Let me take a break from my customer service filled life!
Let’s get the pretty girl a glass of wine, yes?
Is this still going??
I thought tickets were already drawn.
I’d like tickets. This sounds like a perfect date to take my girlfriend out on.
Everything pink is always delicious!
My mom is coming to town and this would be a fabulous start to our night out on the town!!
Rose is NOT a four letter word, but wine is
