Seattle drummer and composer Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Tuatara) and his world-fusion jazz group return with their 5th album, “Artifact”, to be released worldwide on May 15th 2012. Produced by legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees), “Artifact” is the band’s most adventurous album to date.
It showcases a rhythmic fusion of jazz and rock with a liberal dose of world music styles, exotic melodies, and psychedelia. Now grown to a septet comprised of Seattle’s top jazz musicians, the band includes Joe Doria and Andy Coe (Hammond organ and guitar, respectively) from the scorching goodfoot soul-jazz favorite, McTuff. This is thinking folks’ dance music! Don’t miss this special show! Philly’s Phunkestra kicks the night off with a set of hard groovin’, horn-blaring soul!
