Afrobeat cannot stand still. As the genre’s tempting sounds continue a resurgence across the globe, Chicago Afrobeat Project (CAbP) remains true to its original vision of breathing the intensity of Chicago’s rich music scene into the infectious sounds of Afrobeat.
Rather than become caricatures of the genre, CAbP slips a reverent nod to the tradition while delivering an energized originality different from any other band on the Afrobeat scene today.
At each of its 100+ live performances a year, the group’s frenzied songs hit audiences with a big enough one-two punch to tirelessly knock them onto the dance floor time and time again.

Wait –
Afrobeat and I have something in common: we “cannot stand still”
CAbP and I have something in common: we deliver an “energized originality” – that’s right.
Help “deliver” ME to my PEOPLE!
Thanks PDX Pipeline.
Ahhhh…. Music music music!!!! I want to experience this and move! I recently lost my job and am having to move… My body aches and I need a break!
I wanna play!!
I’m from Chi-town so I’d love to go to this. Need to get my groove on. Please make my day and pick me!!
Love Afrobeat: the more people who listen to it here in this whitebread town, the better. I want to learn more about Chicago, and I love Chicago slang and deep-dish pizza.
Me: Wanna go out tonight? Listen to some music. C’mon…
Him: Is it Afrobeat? Is it good Afrobeat?
Me: [eh.......] looking forward to the opportunity to say YES sir it is.
Please and thank you.
I want to see the Chicago Afrobeat Project! We would love it and at Goodfoot!!! Pick us (I’ll take my hubby)!
