On Friday, check out Portland’s up and coming roller derby all stars. Two of the Rosebuds home teams, Rainbow Bites and Little Red Riveters, will battle it out on the track.
The derby continues on Saturday as the Axles of Annihilation take on Sacred City. You won’t want to miss this, action takes place at the Hangar at Oaks Park.
Parking will be free for these events! Please note, sitting alongside the track puts you within feet of the action and places you at higher risk of involvement in a skater collision. Arrive early enough to make seating arrangements you are comfortable with. Please arrive when doors open if ADA seating is needed. No photography/video recording permitted without prior approval. No one under 18 is permitted to sit on the floor alongside the track.

I would like to go to the bout because I have never been to one and would love to experience the roller derby in person. I have seen brutal beauty’s but its not the same. I have a great appreciation for the sport and the woman in it. That’s why I want to go to the bout on sat.6-30-12 thank you.

Before I moved here in October I assisted a team that was brand new. It’s so much fun to be around all those gals and to see newbies grow in self confidence in such a wonderful sport. I’d love to see our local ladies play. :)

I got hooked on Roller Derby when I saw it in the Key Arena as part of Bumbershoot many years back but I have yet to see a bout in the 2 years I’ve lived here. I would love to see Saturdays bout.

My dad took me to roller derby when I was about 3, so the memory is quite vague. One of the women gave me a kewpie doll. So 41 years later, I want to go again. Plus, my friend’s daughter is in this.
My brother is arriving this afternoon after driving from Boston to visit us and his niece and nephew. He’d love to be able to take his 10 yr old niece Friday evening and stretch his legs by standing up a cheering on some awesome r-derby. (Nephew – who is 3 – may not quite get r-derby yet…)
