The longest-running Desi party West of the Hudson river! ANDAZ just celebrated its ten-year anniversary! July was the biggest ANDAZ at Rotture yet, a raucous, sweaty dance party with aunties and uncles getting down with all the young kids.
This will be a night of hardcore Panjabi and UK Bhangra dancefloor Molotovs, Bollywood/Tollywood/Kollywood percussion riots, and the latest urban Asian flavors from all corners of the desi diaspora.
ANDAZ is such a Portland institution it is mentioned in the travel guides Best Places Portland 8th Edition and the Moon Handbook Portland; fitting recognition for a monthly dance party now in its 11th year.

Let me win and do something that will impress my kids before I croak
got back from a semester abroad in india and have yet to see DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid! (though have tried on numerous occasions). Stoked to bust out the dance moves this upcoming Saturday! Help a broke recent-grad get her dance on :)
I want to get down with aunties and uncles!
I hope I get to go because me and my peeps only do Punjabi HARDCORE style!
Well, it’s my birthday, and finally a day off I can go. Will bring great compadres. Cheers.
Looking for something fun to do in Portland this Saturday night for my girls 30th BDAY!!!
Just moved to pdx and this sounds really exciting, my girlfrind would love to try bollywood dancing. I used to work in a movie theatre in san jose befoe it was sold to a bollywood company, went back several times to watch movies and the audience participation and dancing was always a blast.
Already practicing my hand moudras to bust out on the dance floor! Would LOVE to win some tix!
Growing up in a mixed household (Dads Hindu moms Kuwaiti and Sikh) I have always had the pleasure of listening to the sounds from all corners of the world. Whether it be bollywood, punjabi, Arabic, with the inclusion of my own personal tastes of music such as hip hop, dubstep, drum n bass, music has been my passion and connection throughout my life. My first experience as a recording artist was at a young age as I attempted to fuse India and hip hop, having no experience I gave up. A year ago my friends told me about the andaz extravaganza, and upon hearing the creative fusions of sounds and mixes from the excellent dj duo I found myself inspired to explore my own talents as a musical artist once again. Artists come and go, but some enliven the dreams of others and for that I owe a thank you to dj anjali and the incredible kid. I’m not concerned if I win these passes or not, I will be there at andaz regardless, to study music, to dance, and most importantly to be a part of something that allows dreamers to awaken and reach for their goals. :-)
Sooo excited to go out Bhangra dancing this Saturday night with my girls!
I’m celebrating my birthday with you guys!! Let me have it as a birthday gift!!
