Five decades of summer dance music, one party of historic proportions! Please join DJ Arthur M (Cooky Parker) for his third installment of “FIFTY: Another Possible History of Dance Music 1962-2012”. This month, we dance across five decades of summer jams!
Well known around town for his monthly soul night “In the Cooky Jar”, Parker’s record collection extends well beyond the genre with his passion for electro, boogie, post-disco, new wave, r&b, rap, and more. “FIFTY” showcases his broader talents with impressive curatorial scope: DJ Arthur M will play one or more emblematic song(s) from the last five decades between 1962-2012, moving ahead each ten year period. He’s also enlisted assistance this month from two mainstays of the Holocene DJ booth – Bobby Dangerous (of Sex Life DJs) and Hanukkah Miracle.
With the right mix of rare dance tracks, forgotten gems, and a few favorite hits, this is sure to be a party of historical proportions!
