A poetic journey to the old city of Ahmedabad, PATANG weaves together the stories of six people transformed by the energy of India’s largest kite festival.
Every year a million kites fill the skies above Ahmedabad–dueling, soaring, tumbling and flying high. When a successful Delhi businessman takes his daughter on a surprise trip back to his childhood home for the festival, an entire family has to confront its own fractured past and fragile dreams. Music and fireworks, food and laughter, a kaleidoscope of color and light, the magic of the kite flying high – a traditional recipe of healing and renewal.
With naturalistic performances from actors and non-actors alike, bold, lyrical editing, vibrant cinematography and a kinetic score, Patang delights the senses and nourishes the spirit. Here’s a link to the trailer: http://www.patang.tv/

Rousseau is a bestselling crime novelist from Paris, troubled by writer’s block. Candice Lecoeur is a local beauty, gracing the famous ”Belle de Jura” cheese packaging, who has gotten it into her head that she might well be the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe. The two will meet in the coldest village in France, but only after Candice has been found dead.
The case was closed before it even opened and the cause of death declared suicide by sleeping pills. Rousseau is the only one who doesn’t buy it. Reality turns out to be stranger than fiction – and a source of inspiration – as Rousseau uncovers the truth about Candice’s past and her untimely death. Boasting strong lead performances and gorgeous wintertime landscapes, this off-beat mystery breathes fresh life into the thriller genre.

I would be delighted to win these tickets, because comtemplating the combination of kites in India and mysteries in France makes me feel like a million bucks!!
I will be doing study abroad in India next year. I absolutely love the culture and really enjoy movies about India. The friend that I would take with me spent a semester in France and was intrigued when she saw the preview for this. I think we would both be respectively thrilled.
need to see how this current g/f can handle foreign films…:)
I love the Clinton Street Theater, and I have several new intellectual friends who would dig going to these with me.
We love this genre of films!! Would be quite a treat!!
We’re regular visitors to your fair city and movie lovers. When we come to Portland, we always look for films that won’t ever show where we’re from, particularly French films. A murder mystery with a would-be Marilyn Monroe? What could be beter? We’ll probably see “Nobody Else But You” whether we win tickets or not.
Such an awesome opportunity to see Patang (The Kite) at the wonderful Clinton Street Theatre!
Both films look sweet but I would dig taking my sis to the Kite movie- we heart India and we heart love.
I’D LIKE TO ATTEND BECAUSE I HEART PRASHANT BHARGAVA!
PATANG (THE KITE) ON SUNDAY THE 19TH AT 7PM.
don’t make me choose, i just love film
