A message from Alan Silver of Thrill The World Portland!:
Hi everyone,
We’re about to start ‘official’ practices for this year’s Thriller. We have a location for the dance – it’s not Pioneer Square, but it’s a great place for the dance. We’ll be coordinating the dance with the Zombie Walk folks – the walk will follow, along with a slew of zombie-themed events on that day. As soon as our T’s are dotted and I’s are crossed with the host site, we will let you know where it will be ~ it should be soon.

Practices are at Fremont UMC (2620 Northeast Fremont Street Portland, OR 97212), as in past years. We’ll continue a schedule of Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons. If you would like us to try to schedule a weeknight practice or two, we can work on that – we’ll do it if there’s enough interest, so please let us know.
The dance is on October 27th, at noon. More info as it develops!

2012 Portland Zombie Walk:
October 27, 2012 | 10AM
OMSI Overflow Lot | Water & Madison
Portland, OR | Facebook Event
From Zombie Walk: October 27th at 10am is our gathering time in the OMSI overflow lot on Water and Madison. We will be there at 9am to let in the Impact NW Voodoo Doughnut van, Niall’s Zombie Control Service, and Tamale Boy. As well as to greet our “Day of” volunteer crew.
This is a pedestrian walk. Please plan your trip with trimet.org There will be no parking in the overflow lot. Parking in the OMSI plaza parking lot is $3 or a citation.
Zombie Walk Rules:
1. Use the “haunted house” rule in that you are not to touch anyone.
2. Do not attempt to scare anyone who is not a willing participant. If anyone is freaking out, turn and shamble in the opposite direction. Avoid confrontations!
3. Stay on the sidewalk unless crossing the street. When crossing, it’s OK to “break character” and cross quickly. Think fast “New Dawn of the Dead” zombies verses the slower “Old Dawn of the Dead” zombies when crossing the street. Blocking traffic is a crime and anyone doing so could be arrested.
4. No drugs. None. Forget it.
5. No alcohol outside the bars. This will get you a nice fine.
6. No littering, destruction of property, or any other illegal activity. Pretend downtown is your own neighborhood and show the utmost respect. This is something we would like to do every year and we don’t want to ruin it. Remember, the media will be watching us (along with the Portland Police) and this event could get world wide news coverage. Let’s put on a good show
