Portland’s festival season is not over yet; the 61st Annual Portland Greek Festival is this weekend @ Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on NE 31st and Glisan. It is truly is on the best festivals of the year. Great food, great entertainment, 15,000+ attendees, and sun predicted all weekend long!

Immigrants for Greece began arriving to the Northwest in the late 1800s to work in fishing, lumber, railroad and other jobs. Settling in Portland they established their church, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in southeast Portland. Moving to a new and larger church on 32nd and NE Glisan in 1952, the mortgage had to be paid off. The ladies decided to help by holding a bazaar with their handwork, food, pastries, music and dances from their homeland. This was the beginning of what is now known as the Annual Greek Festival which is one of the largest of its kind.
The Greek Festival remains a wonderful opportunity for us to share annually with over 15,000 guests from the Portland Metropolitan area our beautiful Greek Orthodox faith, our cherished cultural traditions, food, music, and dance.
Each year we award a portion of our festival proceeds to worthy philanthropic endeavors in the greater Portland community.

Seniors 65-plus: $11.00

Dinner tickets are available at the information booth or at the door. Talents are one dollar each.

Traditional, Byzantine, and more designs imported from Greece.

Baklava
Delicately thin pastry leaves (filo) spread with butter and filled with a walnut/spice mixture and topped with syrup.
Bougatsa
A custard type filling in filo. Topped with honey, cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Diples
A delicate butter and egg pastry deep-fried and dipped in honey. Sprinkled with spices and nuts.
Kadaifi
Kadaifi dough with butter, chopped walnuts, cinnamon and cloves, topped with a honey syrup.
Karithopita
Spiced walnut honey cake.
Koulourakia
An all butter and egg braided cookie. Not overly sweet and good with coffee.
Spiced Orange Koulourakia
A braided cookie make with pure vegetable shortening and spices.
Kourabiethes
An all-butter and egg yolk shortbread-type cookie flavored with brandy and dusted heavily with powdered sugar.
Melomakarona
An orange-flavored cookie spiced with cinnamon. Dipped in honey and sprinkled with nuts.
Pasta Flora
An all-butter cookie with an apricot filling.
Paximadia
Choose one of the five flavors of this Greek biscuit: lemon, orange, amaretto, anise, or chocolate.
Rolla
Rolled filo with walnuts and spice mixture, topped with honey syrup and chocolate.
Tsoureki
Braided sweet bread, make with eggs, milk, sugar, and butter.

I would love to attend the Greek Festival. My wife is of Greek desent (Paristropolis) and she has never been to such an event.. Please send us!
Not enough seating – especially for handicap people
and not much entertainment and not much food for the money- the gyros had like processed lamb.
