Come be part of a tradition! For a third year, the Portland Chamber Orchestra will be presenting Handel’s masterpiece, “Messiah”. The Orchestra will perform with the Oregon Chorale (all performances), the Portland Boychoir (Gresham and Portland performances) and the Hillsboro Community Youth Choir (Hillsboro performance only).

This was a family tradition with my family growing up! One year my mother auditioned for the part of the soprano and was on live television singing the Messiah! I haven’t been in years but it would be wonderful to experience again.
I think Handel’s Messiah is one of the most moving pieces of music! Haven’t seen it in concert since I was a kid and would love to go. Can’t afford tix, so hope I will get a chance to go.

We are traveling from Eastern Oregon to Portland for a medical appointment on the 19th and leaving the next day. This would be a great way to relax and treat my friend. I actually really enjoy classical music, including Handel, but have never been to a symphony or orchestra production. This would be great since I usually don’t get out much. Intelligent entertainment…my kind of thing.

I loved singing in the Messiah when I was in high school and college choirs; later I enjoyed sing along performances in a small town. It would bring back memories to go again.
