DJ Anjali and The Incredible Kid are returning to the spacious and elegant Bossanova Ballroom for their second New Year’s Eve party in a row. Last year’s was the biggest party the duo has ever thrown, and this year they are looking to make things even bigger.
This party marks the twelfth anniversary of Anjali and The Kid playing in Portland clubs as a duo since their New Year’s Eve debut in 2000. Expect some banging Bhangra and Bollywood tracks along with Giddha Bounce, Tamil and Telugu percussion riots, the best in Urban Desi, and maybe even some forays into other international club bangers, depending on the mood of the DJs and the crowd.

Sounds like a cool party
I moved to Portland just a few days before Thanksgiving this year. Since I moved from San Francisco, I was skeptical that I would be able to find music and dj’s that were as incredible as the ones from my previous home.
Just a few days later, I found out about DJ Anjali’s party at Rotture and committed to going.
After dancing all night at her party on Dec. 1st, I decided that Portland would be a great place to live. I realized that Portland has as much, if not more, incredible music as the Bay Area does!
I would love to be able to ring in the New Year, in a new place, with DJ Anjali.
My girlfriend and I would love to go to this event! We love music from India, it’s sad to see one of the greatest ambassadors for Indian music passed away yesterday, Ravi Shankar was an inspiration to many of us.
Sounds like a great way to spend NYE!
Sounds like the best party in town!
I went to my first Bhangra and Bollywood Dance Party just a few weeks ago, and am totally hooked! I could not think of a better thing to do on NYE!
DJ Anjali & The Incredible Kid always rock my world. I already have the best NYE date ever, and dancing all night to this awesome set would make it the best NYE kiss at midnight ever!
Pick me, please, please, please! :)
When walking home from last year’s party, we found someone’s driver’s license on Burnside. Looked her up on facebook, messaged her, no reply, so we mailed the license back to the address on the license. Hope it got to her. Also hope she didn’t drive back to Vancouver without it.
Looking forward to this event. My boyfriend introduced me to your amazing party recently and I absolutely LOVED the vibe, the music, the people! And.. dancing again. Thank you for giving me my groove back! xoxo
Had a blast at the NYE party last year and would love to go again, free tickets would definitely help that! :)
I moved to Portland from Delhi last year where we pretty much start every year with bhangra and Bollywood and I would like to continue the tradition…..
btw I am a Punjabi…..we love good food and we live to party!!!
My husband and I were both fans when we met December 31 2009 at your New Year’s Eve show sat The Woods in Sellwood. It was magical. We are still fans and would love to go this year too!
First new years as a 21 year old, sounds like a perfect way to ring in the new year!
My boyfriend and I recently moved to Portland, so this will be our first New Year’s here, and I really want to do something fun. It took us a long time to start working and we are trying to catch up on bills, so winning tickets to an awesome event that we couldn’t otherwise afford would be super fantastic!
I would like to attend because I love Bhangra music and Bollywood movies, and the bossanova is an amazing venue!!! Also, I haven’t been able to do anything fun the past few New Year’s Eves due to work, and I want to ring in the new year with a real celebration now that I can!!
Because it’d be even cooler with me there.
Because it’d be even cooler with me there yo
Say hello to BOLLYWOOD!
Totally love DJ Anjali. And coincidentally, I don’t have a good plan for NYE yet. Would love these tickets for me and my girlfriend!
In our fancy fancy finest, we will totally shake our collective booty and be the happiest couple around if we should win these tickets! My husband has a suit designed by Sammy Davis Jr. in the 70′s and, gosh-darn, does he look good in it. Don’t you want to see him? I know you do, so pick us! And I’m no slouch myself in the sparkles department:)
Love, Sadie and Sammy DJ.
OH, and Anjali is the hostess with the mostest for sure! We had a nice hug on Halloween, let’s ring in the New Year together too!
I love Bollywood!
Me and my lady friends would love to dance in the New Year with Anjali!
I can’t stay home and pet my cat another New Year’s Eve. Maybe this time…
I am in love with DJ Anjali’s music, and absolutely adore banghra music. My partner and I are hoping to go somewhere special this year and this would truly be a wonderful way to ring in the new year.
Everybody should go to this on NYE!!! It’s gonna get crazy :D
I went to this party last year. It was so much fun and would love to go again.
Braaaaahhhhh! Bhanghra dancing is how I get my groove on! DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid yes please. What a great way to dance into 2013.
Pick me, dancing is my specialty! NYE 2013!
Sounds like a ton of fun!
I have family coming in from Ohio, Beijing, and San Diego to spend the holidays with me in Portland. I would love to be able to take them to this great Portland event to celebrate, and a pair of tickets would be a huge help on the expense.
Ready to dance all night!
I would love to win tickets! DJ Anjali brings back thoughts of great times with the greatest friends.
This has been a tough year for so many of us. I MUST greet the new year with this energy… Please help me set the tone for 2013. ;-)
Portland’s international community is so underrepresented in the the music and art scene. I’m so glad to see this premiere party and hope I have the privilege to attend!
this definitely sounds like a good way to end the year!
I would love to come to this party. And if I come, I promise my dancing skills will give everyone something to laugh at!
I love DJ Anjali and the Kid and I can’t think of a better way to spend NEw years than dancing to their beats
I know that it says that the tickets were to be awarded yesterday, but I am going to try anyway. I have had major transitions this year and will be celebrating my first adult New Years in over 12 years. I became a single mom three years ago and have been transforming ever since. I have found the perfect little black dress (that was on sale). I am currently not working because I just earned my two year degree with double honors – I don’t have the resources to pay to go to such a lavish event. My girlfriend (also a single mom, w no help from the father) just went back to earn her Bachelors. Please consider granting us the PRIVERLAGE to go to your amazing event.
i love 2 dance
I’ve loved DJ Anjali since way back at the Fez!
Champagne? Check. Glittery ball drop? Check. Bollywood? Hell yes.
yes, please!
Ummm….this would have to be my first choice on how to ring in the New Year! Mother Earth beats over hip hop! Nothing better.
I would love a sexy dance from new Indian boyfriend!!
I haven’t been to any of her reportedly amazing events yet, so I would LOVE to go for NYE!
Bhangra in Portland? Get out! Better yet, get me in!
Bored BBW babe, new to area, needs to be enlightened and introduced into Portland area’s entertainment, SO I NEED TO WIN!!
I desperately need a fun night out, but can’t afford it right now.
Let’s get it in w/ them boss beats. NYE be bumping.
This is definitely my favorite venue. Sounds fun.

I am so looking forward to this PARTYYYYY!!!
I would LOVE to go to this show with my fiance. He’s not usually up for dancing, but when I mentioned this show he actually said he would go! So give me the tix so I can shake my tail feathers with my love. :)
