Although we’d like to deny it, we’re not kids anymore. Even though I feel 19, I was 60 on my last birthday. We’ve decided that keeping up with the present century is more important than remembering the last one. It’s the way we want to stay feeling young, even as our bodies get rougher. If you pick us, we will appreciate it more than you know. Thank you.

  76. Shaunna December 27, 2012 at 17:48 #

I want to win because I know it will be epic. YOU want me to win because I am sooooo fun!!!

It would be so amazing if I’d win tickets to this event! I’m struggling financially right now, but would love to attend a beautiful New Years event. I was a teacher in the Portland/Gresham area and got laid off two weeks before winter break. Originally I was supposed to go to Vegas for New Years with a few friends but due to the bad news I had to cancel the trip. I would LOVE to win these tickets & it would be such a blessing. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  105. karissa December 28, 2012 at 00:00 #

Going to this party would be a dream come true, as a working artist I haven’t the necessary extra funds for tickets but I have always wished to find myself at such a party as this and the longing tends to grow the strongest for the up coming celebratory day in question. This has been the year of the dragon and as a dragon I feel deeply compelled to close 2012 the appropriate bang, and welcome 2013 with my dancing shoes happy! HAPPY NEW YEAR PORTLAND!! HAPPY NEW YEAR WORLD!!

  106. Brecs December 28, 2012 at 00:04 #

I have a mind-blowing New Years Eve party every year. It’s fun but I’ve heard that the Armory puts on a great party. I am willing to take one for the team and go if I win tickets… If fact I would love to go. I like to mix things up.

    xoxo,
    Brecs.

  107. karissa December 28, 2012 at 00:09 #

I wanna dress up! AND I wanna keep partying like it’s my job!!

  108. Lisa December 28, 2012 at 00:10 #

I’m writing to win the tickets for my friend. She’s an extremely selfless person, always putting others first. She throws a fantastic NYE party each year but I know that she secretly wishes that she could be relieved of those responsibilities and have a night centered around her. Her positive attitude is contagious and her smile brightens an entire room. The Armory event is just what she deserves.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

    ~Lisa

  109. Ragnar Hartmann December 28, 2012 at 00:24 #

It’d be great to attend this.

I’m too late to get the buy one free promotion, and buying both tickets isn’t an option while I’m helping a friend pay for her storage until she gets a new home.

  110. Kimmie December 28, 2012 at 04:00 #

There’s no way I’d be able to afford this classy NYE ticket unless I won. Come on babayy!

  111. June December 28, 2012 at 05:46 #

I think you should pick the lady who will be sitting around in her robe if she doesn’t win! There are better ways to ring in the New Year!

  112. Claire December 28, 2012 at 07:40 #

I’m not very good at planning ahead for NYE, so winning these tickets would be a lifesaver!

  113. DJ December 28, 2012 at 07:40 #

Please pick me!!!!!! I would love to go so very much!

  114. Val White December 28, 2012 at 08:46 #

  118. Robbie December 28, 2012 at 09:27 #

Happy New Year!!! Show me the love!!!

  119. Cara December 28, 2012 at 10:05 #

This is our last new year’s eve for 18 years that we will not have any kids!

  120. Briana December 28, 2012 at 10:22 #

Bass Odyssey was my 1st choice, but now that it’s in Ridgefield (!?) partying in the Pearl sounds super rad. Can I come play please?

  121. Jane December 28, 2012 at 10:42 #

I’m looking for a good time and night of dancing to bring in the New Year! This event sounds like the perfect way to do it!

  122. Court December 28, 2012 at 11:10 #

It’s been a rough year… this looks like an amazing way to bring in a new one – and for my husband and I to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. Would be such a nice and very much “needed” night out for us!

  123. Jessie December 28, 2012 at 11:15 #

This is my first NYE in Portland! Show me how to ring in the new year, Portland style!!

  124. Lisa December 28, 2012 at 11:44 #

Wow! NYE at The Armory – doesn’t get any better than this! Lots of people vying for this one ~ it just might be ME??!! Luck of the draw? Fingers crossed, hope so!

  125. Gene-Allen December 28, 2012 at 12:11 #

I would love to attend because it would allow me to see my fiancé, who I haven’t seen in 3 months because she’s in Amity taking care of her sisters. It would let us have some adult fun “alone” out of the house.

  126. Susan Giesbrecht December 28, 2012 at 12:13 #

This would be a lovely place to ring in the new year with special friends.

  127. Kristen Cihak December 28, 2012 at 13:55 #

My best friend and I would really appreciate these free tickets! We met last year on New Years and about 3 months ago one of our close friends passed in a bad car accident, it would be super nice to be able to go celebrate the night somewhere this nice and bring in the new year in our friend’s memory :) Either way I hope whoever does win has a great time and I wish everyone a happy holidays and a very happy New Years :)

  128. PDXPIPELINE December 28, 2012 at 14:42 #

I have the perfect dress for this but it’s been in the back of my closet for so long that it’s starting to collect dust. PLEASE give me a reason to drag it out and dust it off!

I haven’t been to a NYs party since 1994 because all my fabulous gay party pals have almost all since succumbed to AIDS. They were the best godfathers to my son when I was a struggling single mom. It just didn’t seem like a new year was worth celebrating anymore. I had met them at the biggest nightclub in Seattle in the 80s a place called the monastery. I was a model and they loved me for me. Almost a decade went by with my sadness.Just a couple weeks ago Ric Smith one of the last passed after 26 years of suffering he was my sons godfather his 8hr memorial was yesterday. He used his disease to help others and won 2012 Washington State Activist of the year. I decided last night that my life needed a big party and celebration so I could start looking forward to a new year like Ric and the others would want me too. The last I went to was with all of them in 1994 and it was the biggest one in town – sounds like this one. And I will party like its 1994 :-D

Would love to attend this event and be able to support the work of Oregon Active! Such a great organization and they provide amazing opportunities to at-risk youth. Of the people who have commented on here regarding the “party” no one is mentioning what it’s benefiting. Its about supporting a wonderful organization more so than getting a good party out of the deal!
