ATLAS is Holocene’s longest-running dance party, inaugurated in November of 2003 and still going hard. Hosted six times a year by resident DJs Anjali, E3 and The Incredible Kid, ATLAS is a one-of-a-kind post-national bass party that unleashes dancefloor mayhem from across the globe.
Hosted by the crew that first introduced Portland club audiences to genres such as 2step/Dubstep, Balkan Beats, Bhangra, Dembow, Dubstep, Urban Desi, Funk Carioca, Kuduro, Merengue Urbano, Rai’n'B, Reggada, Reggaeton, 3Ball, Cumbia Nueva and Tropical, ATLAS continues to blaze trails in international bass music for one of the most diverse nights & crowds in town.
Bloco Alegria is Portland’s newest Rio style samba band. Playing the heart-pumping rhythms of Rio’s carnaval parades is what gives this band its unique sound and vibrancy. Bloco Alegria celebrates the music, dance, and culture of Brasil.

I’ve heard lots of great things about ATLAS, yet I’ve never been before. I’m really hoping to make it out and dance the night away. It’s my favorite kind of therapy for my mind and body.
It’s my birthday weekend and need to get my dance on-I’ve seen DJ Anjali once and danced my ass off that’s exactly what I need on my 24th birthday.

My first DJ Anjali and the Incredible Kid event was on New Year’s Eve and it was a wonderful dance experience and met my expectations. Dance is one way I express my spirit and would welcome free tickets in which I could take some friends and expose them to your awesomeness!

We love to dance and we love the cultural sounds. We celebrate diversity and LOVE international sounds! We’re too poor to go out to places so we turn on world music or techno beats (or both) and dance in our living room.

The ATLAS events and anything dj’d by Anjali and the Kid are quality ways to party down, world-smile style. I’m looking forward to bringing my out of town friend to this event, if we can find a way to afford it.
