Hillsdale Main Street is pleased to announce Hillsdale’s 2013 wine and food pairing event: Wine About Winter. By the beginning of February, most Portlanders are just plain tired of the rain and the cold. Hillsdale wants to offer a reprieve from the dreariness of Portland winters, by providing a warm, cozy place for neighbors to get together around wine and food. Purchase Tickets HERE.

On Sunday, February 10, 2013, over 500 attendees will cozy up together to taste wines that are not mass distributed from 25+ wineries, and enjoy local nibbles and live music. Executive Chef Earl Johnson from Korkage Wine Bar & Shop, who has 20+ years of cooking and teaching experience including a period at the Statler Hotel at Cornell University in New York, one of the foremost hospitality schools, will curate wine and food pairings to tease the palate and give great ideas for home tasting. Scent and soil stations will help expand guests wine palates, and the cozy atmosphere will ensure a wonderful time.

Volunteers receive FREE admission into the event! Learn more here!

I’ve been trying to find a way to introduce my local craft beer loving boyfriend to the wonderful world of wine! This would also be a lovely early Valentines date, as it’s the only weekend we have off together in the next month. It’d be a great excuse to come explore the Hilldale area too! <3

I have some wining to do this winter! I need to let it out… and let it in…

In addition, Hillsdale is my neighborhood, and I would walk – just think of the carbon emissions saved by choosing humble me!

This is a great little neighborhood, and I’d like to support a community event. My wining will turn to joyous toasting and celebrating! Guaranteed!

  19. Naomi February 5, 2013 at 20:35 #

My fiancée and I moved to Portland in September for his college choice and a beautiful change in scenery. Since we are new to the area and both have a love for wine we’d be so excited to attend! Also, I just secured a new job! The biggest reason we should be picked is because my fiancée does not get a legit break to relax…he is constantly studying for classes. For example, tonight is our 3year anniversary and we had a nice dinner but the rest of the night he will be studying for two tests tomorrow. We need a good excuse to get out & spend fun quality time together & enjoy the awesome events Portland has to offer.

  20. Claire February 6, 2013 at 07:41 #

This is something that I would love to attend, but am pregnant and my brother and sister in law love to attend wine events. She has been thinking about how to pair her wines with dinners when we go there and this just seems perfect for them. They do not get out much and this being the event it is seems heaven sent. Please consider them for this.

I love wine tasting, especially at special events like this with food pairings & fun atmosphere. My boyfriend works until late on Valentine’s day, so this would be a nice way to celebrate. Plus, my birthday is next weekend & I will be out of town for a week… Last year he took the day off from work and we spent the day wine tasting at local vineyards, he is quite bummed about me not being around to do it again this year… Would be a great to surprise him with this early birthday fun to make up for it. Valentines, birthday, wine tasting… What could be better?! :)

  62. Kellie February 8, 2013 at 07:38 #

Nothing better than an event of wining and dinning. Being a lover and presenter of both, and new to the Portland community, I would love tickets to expand my local knowledge for myself and to pass along fab recommendations to others. Please choose me for these tickets. I will appreciated and lavish every moment.

  76. Leonard January 27, 2014 at 20:25 #
