Lisa Mann and Her Really Good Band are currently the Cascade Blues Association’s choice for Contemporary Blues Act of the Year. Bandleader, vocalist and bassist Lisa Mann took home two additional Muddy Waters Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year and Bass Player of the Year as well. She also won the Portland Music Award for Outstanding Achievement in Blues. Her latest rockin’ blues CD, Satisfied, has been featured on radio stations nationwide and around the world, including Blues Deluxe and Sirius XM’s Bluesville. Don Campbell of the Oregonian calls her a “gifted composer and vocalist.”
Lisa and Her Really Good Band (guitarist Jeff Knudson, keyboardist Brian Harris, and drummer Michael Ballash) will be joining forces with the exceptionally talented Diane Blue, coming all the way from Boston, MA to tour the Pacific Northwest. This vocalist and harp player is an energetic crowd-pleaser, serving up her spin on soul, blues and R&B. She has performed with such blues luminaries as Ronnie Earl, Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson, Big Jack Johnson and “Soul Queen of New Orleans” Irma Thomas. She was voted Outstanding Female Singer in The Blues Audience 2011 Reader’s Poll, and won the 2010 Massachusetts Blues Challenge, sending her to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge.
It was at the International Blues Challenge that Lisa and Diane met, and they both knew they were destined to work together. Don’t miss this exciting double bill! Co-sponsored by the Cascade Blues Association- just show your CBA card and you’ll receive a dollar off admission. $10 at the door, seating is limited so be sure to call Jimmy Mak’s at 503-295-6542 if you’d like to make dinner reservations and guarantee a great seat!
